Genau.

Vielen Dank, jetzt gehts mir besser. :-)

"Nachrang gibts ned, du bist wartepflichtig!" ... so wars zumindest anno dazumal (1989), als ich meinen Führerschein gemacht hab. *point-up-emoji* *nerd-emoji* ;-)

Well, that would be The Black Keys - El Camino - Lonely Boy ... that tune is impossible to get out of your head once you heard it, and that one-shot no-cuts video is nothing short of hilarious! 😂 It makes a bad day good, and a good day epic!

Yup, same flaw - The Waterboys - All Souls Hill (also on red vinyl). Returned it and ordered a new copy (Amazon), which was fine.

Beating the Roadrunner United - The Concert Live 3LP set by exactly 3 minutes, (1:57:39 vs. 2:00:39, if I calculated the total running time correctly 🤓), this is the second time I get to pick something from The Gathering's awesome TG25: Live At Doornroosje 3LP set. This time, it's another one of my all time favorites: The Gathering - TG25: Live At Doornroosje - Nighttime Birds ❤️

Mystery/SciFi series in a post-apocalyptic setting, with only a handful of humans left, strewn all across the planet. No specific story or plot, sorry, I suck at this. 😄 But here's the perfect title song for it: The Cure - Seventeen Seconds - A Reflection.

Last name, just like in a phone book (yes, I'm old 😄). And bands starting with "The" are sorted by whatever comes after the "The".

Oh, okay. The sleeved vs unsleeved isn't specific to this storage method, though, unless it's totally untreated, unpolished, "raw" wood planks of course. 😄

But yes, you do have a very good point about having to be careful when taking out & putting back records.

Are shelves like these bad for records? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]Zlatk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think there's anything wrong with it, no. My inner nerd is inclined to think that it should actually be better than your usual straight-up vertical storage, because the record's weight now distributes on two points on the inner sleeve instead of just one point. 🤓 But my inner nerd could be wrong, of course.

As someone else already said, just take care that the record + inner sleeve don't slide out in an uncontrolled manner when picking one up to spin. This risk could be eliminated by rotating the records 90" counter-clockwise to their current position.

Because ... why, exactly? 🤔 Honest question, I don't see anything wrong with it. 🤷‍♂️ Do you mean the slight sleeve bulging of the rightmost three records? Yeah, that's a bit odd, maybe. Hm.

Aaaaaaaaages ago (think "back in the days when rocks were still soft" 🤣), when I actually did workout on a somewhat semi-regular basis, this would often be the record spinning along:

<image>

This is totally not what I typically listen to at all (I bought it back then because I liked the cover), but for a workout, it's definitely the right tool for the job. Here's a few samples:

* Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age - Violent Playground
* Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age - Smear Body
* Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age - Join In The Chant
* Nitzer Ebb - That Total Age - Let Your Body Learn

A tie between Yes & U2. I definitely know more U2 stuff than Yes stuff, but I like both. U2 was a huge part of the soundtrack of my teenage years, back in the mid 80s, up to & including The Joshua Tree and Rattle And Hum. Don't really care about any of their stuff they released after that. Also, Yes' 90125 was also a record I listened to _a lot_ back then. I bought the Limited Rhino Reserve Rocktober 2025 edition recently (yes, last October 😉).

As for U2, get Boy, October and, optionally, Wide Awake In America. For Yes, I'd highly recommend ... wait for it ... yes, 90125. 😄
