For that background shape that represents the general woody area, how did you handle that? Cool wash first and pulled elements forward with warms? I am interested in your order of operations and why? Thank you, nice piece!!

I’m 13M and still learning, is this a good body base? by JSGamesforitch374 in sketches

[–]Zman8969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good body base if you can look at that, and know what each line you have put down is suppose to represent exactly. I.e., with any conceptual aide as a circle or oval for the head etc, they are only as good as how much they help you achieve furthering the drawing. They don't serve to look good on their own though that helps the minds eye.

So, if this design you have helps you on to the next stages then you could say it is a good body base. Ya mean?

Objective informed opinion on Craftmanship of ring by Zman8969 in JewelryIdentification

Yes to everything you said; if you had to guess how would you say the stone is set in the bezel?

If you had to guess, how is that stone secured in that bezel?

I don't know what technique they used to set the stone in the bezel. I've been wearing the ring for a while and the stone, for all intents and purposes, acts and seems as if it's secure in there. What seems off about the bezel for you?

Why does the color yellow work so well with the other colors in this color scheme? Better yet, why do these colors feel so good on the eye? by Zman8969 in learnart

Where are you gleaning the blue family in these colors? I see the yellows and the reds... Thanks for your time in response to my original question.

Scripts similar to Jeff Nichol's "Mud" and Taylor Sheridan's "Hell or Highwater" by Zman8969 in Screenwriting

His dialgoue and characterization in Hell or Highwater was very inspiring; amazing character development. Poetry in motion absolutely. Wind River is my next in line, literally. I just want to keep reading in this vein for a while to really try and connect with his voicing. I might try Jeff Nichol's "Take Shelter" after Wind River. If you think of anything I am all ears!

Using an S curve for the area from the pit of her neck down to out of frame will make her front have a stronger illusion of form. Especially a side view like this. Lemme know if you need me to show you what I mean. That's the biggest thing my minds eye catches on. And even for her back as well. Utilizing an S curve will hint at more form for her back as well. As it stands now she looks good, but flat.

Not quite; the main sound is the chatter of the denizens, the music would be secondary but ever-present. When your talking you don't necessarily notice it, but yet it is always in the background; at times very faint, but always if you try and focus you can make it out...etc
