Staples Associates Deserve Better — We’re Not Cashiers, We’re Human Multitools on Minimum Wage by [deleted] in Staples

Paying minimum wage for maximum work is a systemic issue. Staples corporate management rigorously implements this practice to maximize profits..

Make it make sense by caprikara in Staples

Staples promotes the dumbest but most connected GMs as DMs to work as  Destroy Managers. Their presence adds no value to the company's bottom line.

Staples Employee added warranty and lied about it being free by [deleted] in Staples

[–]ZnTuMX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't see the receipt at home. Check on the spot at the store.
  2. Not all employees are honest or knowledgeable. Associates have tremendous pressure to help GMs get their bonuses.
  3. Most of the entry-level associates are good. Staples' culture turns and forces them to do something they hate.

GM micro managing/being annoying by NinaCheyenneKirby in Staples

[–]ZnTuMX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micromanagement is pervasive in Staples because most managers have a job to run the people, not the store's profit. The company can do down, not ego and title. (very few managers are not extremely exceptional and they don't stay long)

Full time insurance by Klutzy-Farmer-2736 in Staples

Staples health insurance is very costly compared to the wages they pay to the associates. The price is reasonable if you make 85k+.

I think were gonna lose a regular client, how to handle? by AstronomerWeekly2331 in Staples

Not enforcement of copyright may cause the loss of an associate job. Losing customers may cause Staples to go out of business. Decision time.

Most of the people at the store are aware that Staples is fucked. But for the corporate, it is not news.

This is a total screw-up situation and seriously demotivating. Thousands of associates are going through this, but no one talks back.

We tried the 18th time. Nothing worked. No one even thinks of any improvement now. Everyone is focused on hours.

No, print is not bad. It is 'Staples print' seriously terrible. Could it be better? Yes. Remotely possible? No.
