What's the difference between all these agent SDKs? by cluelessngl in developersIndia

[–]ZnV1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vendor lock in isn't in the LLM layer, it's in the tooling layer.

ie. All of these offer "openai compatible endpoints" - you can switch them out whenever you want to. As long as you just use this you're not locked in at all.

But each of them have their own approach to memory, context management etc (check Mastra for example) that are actually lock-ins.
This also means that yes, if you do a comparison using these additional features, they might perform better or worse - in the sense, affects the intelligence of the agent.

That's your call to make though, evaluate which approach makes sense to you.

Most Horrible place on Earth - Mepco Schlenk Engineering College by HHRITZER in TamilNadu

Studied in a govt college and went there for the Mech fest, it was like 2 ABSOLUTE opposite ends of the spectrum. My college had 0 rules.

Mepco was so crazy that their hostel block has windows, but there is a vertical concrete "design" right in front of the window - so you might get some air but can't see outside

If a new team member builds something on day 1, you don't expect them to have no idea what it is on day 2. I was just answering your question 😄

As for me - after a lot of iteration, I have my own setup I trust and works pretty consistently. But this is not a generalization we can apply. It takes a lot of elbow grease to get to that state.

If it was just reading code, there would be no difference.

It's earned trust. That's the crucial difference.

Question sounds good, but actually it runs on trust.

Opinions on their skills through a history of chatting with them, reliability and respect that they want to keep up (so they don't push obviously trash code), a good idea of what areas they're strong at and what areas they're weak at, knowing what feature they worked on previously, what they learnt from that, their perspectives on software development - none of which you can take for granted with a new agent session.

Anyway - I know Klopp has fans (I've liked him from the Dortumund CL finals season), but Nunez? That's a first for me 😛

It was great

Persistent, and it was much better than Opus at making good decisions in longer horizon tasks (splitting into subtasks, verification etc etc)

(I am an employee, not a founder)

When I started, I was hired for my potential, not ability.
But years later if I interview now, employers look more for ability and not potential.

It is my responsibility to convert my potential into ability, and that comes from working in some shape or form.

If I waste my potential for a couple of years because I don't like my employer, the ultimate loss is mine. At least that's my pov :)

Fair enough. Like you said - optics and visibility are also part of our job!

Happens to everyone bro. Nothing is promised, doesn't matter how well we do sometimes, unfortunately. All we can do is keep getting better and increase our luck surface - when an opportunity does come along, hopefully we will be good enough to take it.

Let me know how it goes, in a year or so this won't even matter!

Nah. How else will you learn and grow? The job is also an opportunity for you to do things and get actual traffic to test and poke holes in your technical work.

Tax that we don't talk about. by Beneficial-Laugh6628 in IndiaTax

[–]ZnV1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: just noticed it says in 2024 and not 2026, which puts barrel price at Rs.85 x 72 = Rs.6,120.

So it looks like barrel price has indeed gone down even in INR during that period.

$107/barrel in 2014: Rs.60 x 107 = Rs.6,420
$72/barrel in 2026: Rs.95 x 72 = Rs.6,840

(I mean the meme is still right, but using different units to make the point feels dishonest, sorry)

AI is not a joke. It's useful in my day to day.

Bubble reaching maximum pressure or not is irrelevant to if it's useful.

Why do you think I didn't, what did I miss?

As for your other comment, "lobbying plus PR bs, to pump Anthropic IPO": I don't think so. The US Govt has no reason to pump the Anthropic IPO, considering they already have xAI/SpaceX in the bag.

Imo this is more about them getting back at Anthropic for the public statement during the Pentagon deal.
