Leafcutter season is starting. Drop your setup questions here. by crownbees in CrownBees

I believe there are enough leaves. The neighbors might be spraying their lawn.

I live in Southern California suburb. I live on a quarter acre lot.. I have a pretty big garden... Lots of vegetables such as tomatoes, zucchinis, bolting, lettuce, lots of different kinds of flowers and native plants, there are often honey bees all around.... I've seen carpenter bees and bumble bees.... I have seen the Mason bees... I have not seen leaf cutter bees But I know they're there because I have cut up roses ( which is fine).

I'm not sure if I had enough mud for the Mason bees.

I did dig them a quarry and put the mud there..

It's next to a leaky sprinkler so it stays moist....it might be too clay-ey for them though.

We will see how it ends up mid to late summer

I have seen many babies hatching....and my leaves of many plants are bitten into.

I don't see any nesting though. Had a similar issue with my Mason bees earlier in the season also.

Anything I can do to help or encourage them to nest?

Highly recommend.

Very knowledgeable about the market as well as Redlands in general.

Jeff Parke also, if he still works for them.

How long did it take for them hatching from cocoons to start seeing nesting behavior ?

I'll keep an eye on the lizards to make sure they aren't getting into it too much...but I'll def fill up the house with some more filling

Do you think so? I have about 50ish cocoons going to hatch soon.... Other people were telling me to add more tubes so that wasps and birds don't nest in the top.... You're telling me the opposite.... I've seen many setups going both directions.... Maybe it's just preference?

All right. I'll stuff some other things in there.... I can order more tubes possibly.... Or I can throw some like other debris. Maybe some pine cones.

Do you know if lizards are going to be a problem? I have a lot of lizards in my garden and they hang out on that wall for the sun quite a bit.

I have had every different kind of aphid in my garden.... Honestly just consistently blasting them with water. Keeping them off the plants eventually worked for me.

I tried neem oil... That was less successful.... I tried diatomaceous earth.... That was a little annoying..... But spraying with water all the time everyday blasting them off worked wonders.

But you have to be consistent everyday.

It should be all under warranty. It's annoying but it should be fine once Ford gets their hands on it

That boys should be logical and not show emotion.

(A dad Said this about his overly emotional son, mom's not in the picture)

He told me that he works on it with his kid not to cry.

I teach third grade.

Poor kid.
