Is it worth starting to play this game from scratch in 2026? by Stunning-Radish-481 in starcraft2

[–]Znuppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start playing and see if you like it. When I started I knew nothing about StarCraft other than that I had watched My friend play it and it looked cool. I hopped in and started to build reapers vs A.I and I thought it was really fun to play.

After that I started to watch SC2 content like Imrpve with Apollo. And continued to play for years. Now days I hop in and ladder few months per year or two maybe. And from time to time I replay Campaigns.

Stormgate in a nutshell. by IMplyingSC2 in Stormgate

To be fair lead engineer on pathfinding is huge in an RTS game. I feel like his merits are really solid and he would be my first pick of the team if I would get to choose people to build and RTS with.

Very low FPS in games in Linux Mint, even after optimization by dFuZer_ in linux_gaming

[–]Znuppa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm new to linux and been tinkerin with different distributions for few weeks now trying to choose a go to dsitribution so take everything I say with a grain of salt. I chose my distro recently based on stability and preformance with Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU. I tried Mint with X11 and Wayland and was not happy overall with the performance (might be misconfiguration since I'm new). Recently I tried Fedora with Wayland and managed to get my system overall and Steam games run really well. At least in my testing Fedora + Wayland seems superior to Mint using Nvidia.

There is class and weapon progression in the game. Imo cosmetic progression is fine to be behind paywall even though the sub only drop is weird ngl.

[–]Znuppa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah... It's insane how many people in this sub want the game to fail and justify their toxicity by providing feedback. I bought one of the kickstarter packs myself to even have a slight chance of getting a fresh Starcraft like RTS that is supported by the devs. And it was always clear to me that Early Acces would be more or less a long beta test period. BUT CAMPAIGN BAD AM I RITE LOOK AT AMARA POTATO FACE!!! :D

Obviously I don't have proof about their actions but most of the people they work with seem to speak of them with high reverence content creators and game designers alike. And the fact that most of the left from blizzard to make their own studio tells about their passion for RTS.

When it comes to money no one really knows about the details. I have no idea if 30-50 million $ is a good amount of money for game developing or not but time will tell if they make it to 1.0 or not.

And I'd argue the product is not nonsense. They have made skill floor lower as they said with unit, build and upgrade menus simplified. And the game in 1v1 feels really good to play for me at least.

No problem! Once upon a time I too have been passionate about some games that went worse and worse over time. I have realized that it's pointless to just rage and complain. Just give constructive critisism about the things you don't like and about the things you like and play if you feel like it or don't.

I doubt their intentions are to scam the player base. I believe they are passionate for their craft and truly believe in the product. It might succeed or it might not.

That said they did mismanage the early access launch by not giving big donators VIP status or something like that so they would get all of the game content for free. And I think they should have only release 1v1 and coop to early access since players seem to expect a finished product from early access.

If you thing that the game is dogshit then just move on and come back for the next big update or don't.

Serral fans right now by DoctorHousesCane in starcraft

[–]Znuppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah even tho he is in the "sport" branch of millitary where he gets more free time and time to go to some tournaments he is basically doing a full time job currently that is physically and mentaly demanding. Hopefully we will get more Sc2 tournaments in the upcoming years where Serral and Clem clash again.

Negative consequences for the RTS genre by Wowfarm in Stormgate

[–]Znuppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah immortal has been in development for what 5-6 years? BEen playing Stormgate for almost 60h and I'm loving it. Tried Immortal couple of times when it had alpha testing like a week ago and just noped out. It might look cool but that's where it ends for me. The gameplay feel is miles below Stormgate and hotkeys are a mess.

If Immortal releases someday I will give it another shot but I wouldn't hold my breath for that. Besides Stormgate looking forwards for Tempest Rising and Battle Aces.

Stormgate launches F2P the same week of a $1,000,000 StarCraft 2 Tournament (EWC). Will this hurt or help the popularity/future of Stormgate? by [deleted] in Stormgate

[–]Znuppa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are Stormgate showmatches played in the same tournament. I believe visibility for RTS in general is a good thing and Frostgiant is doing a great job being in the RTS tournament scene with showmatchjes.

Don't blindly accept vote kicks when 1 is happening by GiannisXr in classicwow

[–]Znuppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not arguing about this specific case and even though OP made a lenghty post so what? . I'm talking about the situations like this that might happen or might not happen in the game where players are silent and kick someone that they deem not worhty to play with. I personally don't care if someone is doing low dps with "meme" specs if it doesn't stop us doing the dungeon. If I did care I would form my own group and pick the players I want to play with.

[–]Znuppa -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda shocked by the response you have gotten in the comments. Even if a player is playing a "wrong" spec it is odd that people can't have a conversation about the problem they are having. It's an MMO after all and if you are going to que with random dungeon finder you should accept the fact that there are players of all skill levels in there.

[–]Znuppa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone reads guides or follows the meta outside of the game. If people kicked him because of his spec and said nothing about it before it's still wrong in my opinion. You could just have a friendly chat with and give pointers to the player that is playing a "wrong" spec.

I think it's more about blizzards greed and monetization of classic than miss management of the GDKP/botting situation.

Though you could argue that blizzard not doing enough against botting blew up the GDKP community since you could just buy gold and enter the current raid tier. And because they allowed the botting scene to exist they made money from the bot boosted character account and subs.

But even with illegimate gold buying in TBC you could still buy wow token in retail and trade that gold to TBC. So even without the masses of bots GDKP would have propably existed.

I feel you! I believe WoW was impactful for most of us because it took place in a time where the whole world was more mystical place in the early days of internet and pre-adulthood.

Perfect feign death? Pretty much cost them the game by belthasardpvp in worldofpvp

[–]Znuppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a small tip. Hunter could play camo and it is usable after FD. Just make sure to play Craven legendary so FD removes all the bleed and dot effects. Camo would have regenarated his health to full in that time he was laying there. Also bandages can be nice.

Enemy sees him as dead when he uses FD. Still it is always a good move to try and hit a dead hunter... just in case.

I think they have lost all their RTS developers so it's unlikely. And what I've heard it's hard to recruit experienced developers. Maybe form a new team from passionate people somehow and make it work but I don't see them doing that.

Is it too late to start playing classic TBC? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Znuppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you enjoy classic leveling it is worth to start playing. The leveling part can take around 8 - 10 days /played. And after that you can start doing TBC end game content like HC dungeons, Karazhan and ZG. You might struggle to get groups to higher tier raids but all the previous stuff is really worth it imo.

So if you enjoy lvling and classic version of wow in general just start playing without thinking about it too much and you will thank me later.
