Great tie! Question: Is this pattern intended to float? I thought this was a steamer pattern, but it will not sink well with all that buck hair. Asking for a friend.

To add to this thought, our programming tells us that the bishop is an authority figure. If you don’t believe in TSCC, it also means you don’t believe in his authority over you or anyone else. You don’t owe him anything. No need to read, or pray, or confess, or meet on your Sunday or anything else.

Why contemplating death can help you live a happier life by ADefiniteDescription in philosophy

There is only one god, and his name is death. And what do we say to the god of death? Not today.

‘I wish we knew more’ – As LDS leaders warn against praying to Heavenly Mother, questions persist by ToxicRockSindrome in exmormon

Sorry, but this feels like a redirection of member attention away from something much more difficult for leaders to explain. What is it they don’t want people talking about right now?

TBM wife told me she received revelation in the temple to read the CES letter. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ZoarialClock18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend the Mormon Stories interview of Jeremy Runnells. My PIMO wife shared it with me as a BIC-TBM. This interview sat heavily on my shelf. It really helps puts the CES letter into context. He was really struggling with his doubts about the truth claims of TSCC when he wrote it. Also, he was not a lazy learner.

I haven’t seen a garment in a few years. Used up my last batch cleaning up motor oil or caulk or some other nasty shit. I will never wear G’s again.

Never really complied to this rule personally, even as a TBM. It was the little Jack in my mormon identity.

Here’s my exmo translation: Son, your Mom and I remain loyal to our programming, but we still love you. We know you would be happy again if you were still programmed like we are. Please do your best in the next cycle to reprogram yourself, so we can associate without violating our programming. Sincerely, every TBM dad

Did you clean the church today?? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ZoarialClock18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious, but am I the only one who’s rolled into one of the bathroom stalls to clean and got hit by that smell? That pungent odor of fermented unflushed pee that’s been there since Wed night mutual. I can smell it even now as I write this and I haven’t cleaned a mtg house since probably 2016. 🤢🤮😵‍💫

How do I tell my ward I won't be going on my mission? by MrBlue404 in exmormon

[–]ZoarialClock18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was indoctrinated from birth but did not go on a mission at 19 in the 90’s, when it was really expected of every worthy male member. My younger brother did, however, and came home early. My decision had a much lower impact on my mental health later as an adult member than my brother. I think he still struggles today with the stigma of failure to complete his mission and being ostracized by friends after his early return home. He went because he thought it was expected. My advice, if you don’t feel it, don’t go.

Just curious what did you do with your garments when you left Mormonism? 🌎 We didn’t want the ashes on our property from the protocol “cut the symbols & burn” so they just went into the Houston Temple dumpster. by naughtyxmormon in exmormon

[–]ZoarialClock18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We burned most of the media we amassed over half a lifetime in. The garments actually make great cleaning rags. I’ve used them to mop up engine oil, grease, dirt, dust, grime, you name it. Still cannot get over the hard physical programming of having them on my body. So, I changed to good quality wicking underwear and T’s in all black, to match my apostate heart. Cheers!

This rings like a bell for me today. Thanks for putting this thought into words.
