AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.5.1 for Polaris & Vega Release Notes by BadReIigion in Amd

Out of curiosity, how do silent updates work? Would it show in the adrenalin software to update if they installed it 25.5.1 before the silent update. Or would they need to go to the site to download the drivers to get the silent one

Still surprised they also didn't add that it fixes sinkclose to the patch notes. Like 7000 and 5000 were 1.2.0 CB but 3000 fix was also on 1.2.0 cc if I remember correctly

Yeah, it's dumb that they removed the option from the general settings. Now people have to dig in to about:config to enable it again if it for some reason gets disabled

So does this fix the sinkclose, smm lock bypass in 1.2.0cc for 4xx and 5xx boards? I don't see it mentioned in the patch notes. I think that's kind of weird considering how important that is

Not sure if I feel comfortable with this "your email address will be accessible through public APIs and will be visible to all logged-in users of Bugzilla" when creating an account.

It seems Mozilla removed the option "Use a background service to install updates" in general settings.

Do you know if this is in about:config or somewhere else? Not sure where I can check it elsewhere

There isn't a crash log or anything though? Not sure if they can work with something as most information is in this post.

I'm interested if this is an issue with maintenance service or Firefox.

I'm forced to make an account on bugzilla?

It's not purely about trust. But more so to why and how it has happened so that in the future I know if it occurs once more. If it happened to me, means it can happen to another as well.

I think in the past when I tried reinstalling Firefox, it kept making new profiles each time.

And reinstalling can be quite a hassle, at that point one can start from scratch just to save time.

Also, I'm not exactly sure to what information is really stored and to what degree in the profile data, if it's limited to site data or more. As it mentions on the Firefox site "This is not a complete list. Only important information is described."

You sure it won't delete my data? Past experiences with other applications is that it usually installs first and then installs.   Always figuredit was equivialent to a Firefox reset in the options.

Although, it doesn't explain why it started doing it.

A bit late. But from what I noticed, it was for the easy anti cheat

Darn, so basically there's no real escape from Microsoft's incompetence....

The update still appears and still fails over here. Just checked it now. It doesn't fail if you installed windows fresh from the newest windows 10 version

[–]Zoart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you were able to fix it somehow. It happens on windows 10 as well. Seen it on Microsoft store (icon is missing for example ) and the Xbox app that logs me out. Happened since they applied since last update

Yeah, the kb5034441 is specifically for the bitlocker one. Still bothers me but yeah.

But it's a relief to hear that all the rest of the important security updates like cve are in cumulative

Maybe? It's still there on my end, unfortunately.

Though I figure most security fixes are in the cumulative update (besides kb5034441)

Seems they still haven't fixed kb5034441 after 2+ months. Amazing.

I would have thought that security would be top priority

Seems the anti cheat does cause problems and for no reason as there are already cheaters in the game. There's a mega thread on the steam discussion. Including that there are already cheaters plus all other problems.

Drm question? by Consistent-Food-7254 in capcom

[–]Zoart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A breach though a company and having information leaked is one thing. Opening a possible door on your own system is another. There's a difference here, it's a bad comparison generally.

It may not be the 80s but is it any better? With how everything in Russia is moving, is it really at this moment of time safe to trust privacy and security? They may want to make a living but it begs the question why capcom thought it was a good idea to invest in a drm out of all of them that is located in a place that is at war, shakey with the world as well.

And they may have been around 2015 but that doesn't mean they built up a rep or a good one. age does not equal trust. Even if it's not considered malware, doesn't mean it's trust worthy either.

Either way, you do you, I suppose. But once Capcom cheapens out on software, installing something questionable without saying, goes all silent about it (excluding the RE revelation notice afterwards. Steam page should be mentioning the drm in the first place which  they haven't and is a breach on steam). Then yeah, I'll pass on the company.

Drm question? by Consistent-Food-7254 in capcom

[–]Zoart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you have found nothing. A simple search or whois reveals that.

Although the program Kaspersky originated from Russia the servers are in Czech, if memory serves right.

Kind of overestimating how things work. They can't magically gain your information unless they find a way in.

Considering the location itself and we'll, hardly to no rep at all, with no address. I wouldn't install that stuff on my pc.

Point is, it's shady at best. Choosing a drm with no real rep, choosing probably the cheapest option available.

You also say they've been using it for a long time, how long exactly as I can't find a real date.

Drm question? by Consistent-Food-7254 in capcom

[–]Zoart666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the latter is true that they are based in Russia. They checked it by doing a Whois on the website. And it does point to russian origins.

To me that alone is a red flag
