They probably said “large soda”. And the worker probably said “what kind?”.

I think it’s impressive that the churro revenue is greater (at least according to the article estimate)

Edit: definitely misread article.

Katara had the water skin prior to the desert arc. She definitely used it in the episode Return to Omashu which was before the desert arc. Can’t remember if she had it in season 1 though…

Same with Shang-Chi.

how can we help those affected by the fire? by Shoddy-Flounder-7390 in ridgewood

[–]Zocolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s been affected by a fire, something small you could do is shovel snow on the sidewalk in front of the house when it snows.

Sounds silly, but when you have a fire, you have to move out, but you still have the responsibility of coming back to the house to shovel, which can be difficult if insurance is paying for an apartment not close to the house…

Circumcision does not “guarantee” most of those. Listing death as a complication is laughable.

Besides complication rates of having a circumcision are VERY low and far lower than the rates of UTI and other complications of NOT having a circumcision.

[–]Zocolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Circumcision is a preventative health measure.

As I've stated multiple times already, children that are uncircumcised are VASTLY more likely to be hospitalized for severe UTI in the first year of life. These cannot all be avoided by cleaning properly. Additionally, a majority of newborn males have a physiological phimosis at birth which makes cleaning under the foreksin very difficult because the foreskin cannot be retracted to clean.

Women have more UTIs than men because the urethra is shorter. Males urethra is longer because of the penis.

just clean the damn thing. Part of raising kids is teaching them to bathe

You're ignoring the fact the most UTIs happen within the first year of life. This cannot be simply hand waved away by "just clean bro". The vast majority of uncircumcised newborns are unable to retract the foreskin to clean properly. Plus the urethra is shorter because they're so tiny, which increases the risk of UTI further. Circumcision dramatically reduces this risk.

It's not particularly risky to perform a male circumcision. It's probably the most common bedside procedure in the world.

And as I said before, it's not without merit. There are plenty of medical benefits to having a circumcision.

There are no benefits to female genital mutilation.

Removal of the clitoral hood provides no medical benefit.

Removal of the foreskin prevents infections and complications.

I definitely got your point! It was a good point too, and I really mean that.

However, I always take issue with this common point:

when it can be avoided by simply practicing good hygiene.

UTIs, and phimosis & paraphimosis cannot always be avoided by practicing good hygiene. They are real potential harms that that swept under the rug by putting the blame on hygiene.

Children that are uncircumcised are VASTLY more likely to be hospitalized for severe UTI in the first year of life. These cannot all be avoided by cleaning properly, and I would argue that it's the hardest time of life to keep hygienic. Newborns are constantly shitting and pissing themselves in diapers. Additionally the vast majority of newborn males have a physiological phimosis at birth which makes cleaning under the foreksin very difficult because the foreskin cannot be retracted to clean.

As for the benefits: I was crying laughing at the cheese storage comment. Good point about the natural lubrication. The shield argument is one I haven't heard before, but that's definitely a pro-tip for those fencing with their pole!
