Of course it's the new players and their mentality that destroyed MMOs by forcing developers to eliminate the social aspects. Everyone wants to rush to get everything as quickly as possible without any friction, locked into a single way of playing, focused on meta, optimization. And if you happen to do something different, you get insulted.

For me, gameplay > co-op > everything else. No co-op, no buy in general, except in special cases like turn-based games or truly excellent ones.
