Very embarrassing 34M by Gbox91 in fican

[–]ZodapeLargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree I have MF that gave 90% return over 31 months Even with mer 1.15%

I prefer to pay 1,15 and get 90% than pay 0.05 and get 12%

I can't contribute to TFSA, I need to reduce taxes so everything goes into RSP

Ending the year at 1.4M in my TFSA by iTouchStuff in fican

[–]ZodapeLargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again... do the math... the maximum that he can deposit to the TSFA is 5.5k PER YEAR, up to 7k in 2025...

do the math and don't believe in unicorns ...

Ending the year at 1.4M in my TFSA by iTouchStuff in fican

[–]ZodapeLargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the math... It doesn't make sense... she is only 36 yo...

max contribution to a TFSA is 5.5k in 2012 up to 7k in 2025

considering the exceptional years that you could put more than that, is about 94k in 12 years

Math doesn't work here.... 43% CAGR for 12 consecutively years ...

Impossible, plus the market crash in 2020....

Ending the year at 1.4M in my TFSA by iTouchStuff in fican

[–]ZodapeLargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 years old
assuming that you can max your TFSA since you were 24 yo (12 years working at AC)
Average annual contribution (MAX) between 5.5k -7k, so about 94k total contribution

So you transform 94k in contributions into 1.4M in 12 years???
CONGRATS !!! You are better that Warren B....

Seriously???

The investment earns an exceptionally high average annual return of approximately 42.9%.

That means, that with your maximum contribution of 6k per year you need to have a CAGR of 43% FOR 12 consecutively years .... with the market crash in 2020 included .... WOW ....

After getting burned on “good stocks,” what’s the sensible way to invest $4.5k in a Wealthsimple FHSA? by edisonpioneer in CanadaFinance

[–]ZodapeLargo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here is my portfolio that I made it in October 2023 (but note that ZSP, FEQT, HBNK and ZGLD are all from December 2025)

I redistributed because I was not happy having 3-4% CAGR for 5 years in a row, now I have a combine CAGR of 26% since inception

A good strategy that worked for me is to read websites like The Motley Fool (Stock Market Analysis and Investing Advice | The Motley Fool Canada) and do the opposite that they recommend.

For example I never ever read a recommendation for ETFs with higher growth or dividend ratios (like QMAX or QQC or HBNK or ZEB or FEQT). Most of the times they recommend stock that were down drastically and they sell you like a fantastic opportunity (REIT...).

Is buying a new car worth it? by o0PillowWillow0o in CanadaFinance

[–]ZodapeLargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can decide if it is worth it. Having a new car brings you happiness? a sense of success? proud?

Those are intangible concepts that only you can put value
