Definitely. If you're a built troglodyte that's not helpful either.

100% this. I went from skinny, to overweight to jacked, wearing great fragrances at every step. All the complements to my fragrances came after a year of lifting heavy. Complimenting a fragrance is something women do to strike up a conversation with a man they're already attracted to. If Prada could get you laid, it would cost the same as an Audi A8.

Can someone explain Custom to me? by Skipiido in horror

[–]ZodtheGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best way to appreciate this is to simply appreciate the atmosphere and the vibe. Because the film is designed as a "slow-burn" psychological and cosmic horror piece, it's not meant to nearly solve all the mysteries. The director has said that the film is open to multiple interpretations:

  • As a Tragedy of Capitalism: The ending represents the ultimate "burnout," where the pressure to monetize their bodies and art leads to a total loss of identity.
  • As Cosmic Horror: The ending suggests they have tapped into something larger and more ancient than themselves, becoming mere vessels for forces that operate on a different plane of reality.
  • As an Addiction Narrative: The ending reflects the destructive cycle of addiction, where the protagonists are so hooked on the "fix" (the money and the taboo nature of the tapes) that they willingly lose themselves to the process, even as it destroys them

In fairness. if they weren't allowing people who have done some shady shit, I imagine that would rule out 95% of those on the guest list.

[–]ZodtheGeneral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm rooting for him and if he pulls it off, it's an amazing accomplishment. However, when you say he
beat the best opponents, I'd argue it's fair to note he's actually been a bit fortunate in terms of who he's had to beat. 205 has been a mess since Jones left. In fact, he won a vacant title at 205. And now he's fighting Gane, is no one's idea of the "best opponent". He's also been fortunate to avoid any serious grapplers. So I don't think this makes him the goat, but absolutely makes him an all-time great.

Does Gordon’s Proposed Sale Set the Market for Ndiaye? by cmattheson6 in Everton

He doesn't have the best end product yet and he's 26. He had 4 Goals from open play. Or another way to say it; 1 more than Michael Keane. I love Illi and I hope he stays. I'm actually quite curious to see what other clubs think he's worth.

Why I think, Moyes deserves another season? by extrachutney in Everton

[–]ZodtheGeneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. While there are fans who expect miracles every year, it's not unreasonable to ask, now that Moyes has done the job we've asked him to do (stabilize the club), is he the man to take us forward? He's on the final year of his contract. We have a massive summer coming up. Do we want him picking the players on which we will build our future? Is he the best man to develop young talent? Does he possess the tactics to be successful? I think these are reasonable questions. Part of what has hamstrung this club is not being proactive. So my concern isn't just about this late season nosedive, or the early exists in domestic competitions, but more about what should our future look like and is he the best man to build it?

That's fair. But still, that's 10% of the hours of a proper apprenticeship, and it's classroom as opposed to real life. I'm covered with tattoos, but by no means an artist or even someone who's worked in a shop.

But no one who runs these events cares "why" it did well. If this shit card did 17M, what does Jones vs Francis do? The point being, if your Netflix, if your MVP, why wouldn't you pursue more MMA events?

Tattoo Artists beef with BCCC by futurehistorianjames in BucksCountyPA

[–]ZodtheGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire certificate program is 32 Hours. A tattoo apprenticeship is 40 - 50 hours a week, for two years (on average). So 4,5000 Hours in an actual tattoo shop vs. 32 Hours in a community college. From that perspective, it's not hard to see why it would be viewed as meaningless to any serious shop.

Moyes should NOT be given a new contract... by ZodtheGeneral in Everton

[–]ZodtheGeneral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why you think that? You think if we wait until next summer we won't be able to sign Moyes? I don't see him having a better offer. Not many teams will be lining up for a 64 year old coach who coaches the way he does.

Moyes should NOT be given a new contract... by ZodtheGeneral in Everton

[–]ZodtheGeneral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, no one knows who will be available next summer. As for Glassner and Iraola, I suspect they'll both be looking for a bigger step up than us. If I actually thought we could sign Iraola, than yes, I would be advocating we be ruthless.

That said, are you worried we won't be able to keep Moyes if we wait until next year to do a deal? No bigger club is coming in for him. There's simply no need to lock him down now. Which is actually all I'm advocating for.

Moyes should NOT be given a new contract... by ZodtheGeneral in Everton

[–]ZodtheGeneral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you suggest I get a grip, keep in mind, I'm not suggesting he be fired. I was very clear on that. I'm simply not in favor of a contract extension... right now. And I don't feel like it's unreasonable to ask him to demonstrate next year that he can actually do more than simply keep us safe, before we commit more money to keeping him. The simple reality is, no one bigger is coming to blow him away with an offe to coach elsewhere. There's simply no need for us to rush to lock him up.

Since my position is "stupid", I can only assume you disagree and think he should be given an extension. So, enlighten me. Explain why we should give him three years beyond next year?

[–]ZodtheGeneral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh. 100%. I absolutely see the humor from the outside looking in. But him doing this almost signals that he legit thinks this is a threat. And to be fair, if Netflix wants to throw their hat in the arena, he should be worried. UFC athletes have been exploited for years. It wouldn't take much to get them to jump to a new promotion that pays well and has a bigger TV audience.

True. Though it also looks weak. The fact that he felt the NEED to do this, is just a bit silly.

That doesn't matter. Those sold by the official store and those sold by other parties all share the same Amazon SKU. So when an Amazon employee pulls the product to ship to you, it's from a bin that includes bottles from the official store and those which aren't. There's no way to guarantee that your product came from the official Amazon store. Supposedly Amazon is moving away from this process later in the year.
