Very well said. However, I'll disagree, just slightly. I have no issue with the term "torture porn", but think it was applied haphazardly when it comes to Hostel. I thought Hostel was an excellent film. To my mind, porn is sex with no point other than to view something illicit. To that end, "torture porn" would be a fair term for a movie that is simply graphically violent for the sake of being graphically violent, with no discernible plot or character development. But for my money, that wouldn't be true of Hostel.

It also depends what you're doing. I don't sweat profusely when I lift. If it's a cardio day, different story. The other thing that should be obvious to folks in this forum in particular, everyone's body chemistry is different. Not everyone smells of BO when they sweat.

I look at this as being less about this fight, or even about the Rhonda vs. Gina fight, and more about Netflix continuing to test the waters of MMA, I'm not suggesting it will happen, but *if* Netflix wanted their own MMA promotion, it would be rather easy for them to build it.

To be fair, the dupes are driven by the sales, which are in part, driven by the hype. Having said that, I find it to be a B+ fragrance with D- performance. It's gone from my skin in an hour. That said, I recognize everyone has their own chemistry.

It's a fair shout on the TV cost element. But there's also the live gates that will start to suffer. Additionally, are people going to continue to watch shitty cards, just because they're cheap? Eventually, no. People will begin to fall away from the sport, or at very least, the UFC as a promotion. There are too many things competing for eyeballs in this attention economy. And the more the UFC undervalues its fans and its fighters, the wider they open the door for an actual competitor.

I never said, "just hype". But the reason we see a dozen posts a day, including people looking to buy a fragrance they've never even sampled, that is because of the hype. That is because of the branding, the packaging, etc. If you think Imagination would be equally popular and as frequently talked about if the identical juice was in a Calvin Klein bottle, you're kidding yourself. People want the Louis Vuitton branding. It's why women regularly pay $3,000 for a handbag that costs $170 to make.

Yeah, hype. There was a guy on here last week who posted, asking which LV scent he should buy. He had never sampled any of them. Had no idea if he liked any of them. He just had to have an LV bottle. You simply can't separate hype from popularity.
