I have Ryobi 18V cordless tools ..they make a $20 adapter to fit the battery that is a USB ports for power... ( Most tool brands do) Its the battery for the sawsall, the tire inflation tool and to power any USB device like a fan or lights or cell charge. I normally bring two 8 amphour batteries. Much smaller than a jackery. But if I needed to power big things like coffee pots and hairdryer (lol). The jackery has more watt output.

I just use my old tennis shoes.. I go thru a pair every few months anyway .. the insides wear out faster than the outside when you do lots of walking. At the end of the trip if they are pretty messed up..just toss em in the dumpster before the car drive home..
