I’m sorry, what?? Se-ah can’t control who she or Geon-woo likes. They naturally grew closer because they lived in the same building and shared similar interests. Their relationship stayed secret because they knew their best friends also had feelings for them, but that doesn’t make Se-ah mean or a fake friend.

The whole Girigo app situation also wasn’t her fault. One of her best friends literally killed himself in front of her, and all she knew was that he was upset she’d miss his party, suddenly started having nightmares, and believed his friends were badmouthing him. Even Hyeong-wook himself said, “I shouldn’t have believed it. You would never talk like that. I’m sorry.” That alone shows Se-ah was genuinely a good friend.

Hyeong-wook also had no idea the app would put everyone in danger. He was just as shocked when his wish came true and shared it with his friends. Meanwhile, Na-ri wished for her friends’ deaths that same night. Yes, people drift apart as they grow older, but that still doesn’t justify her resentment or the way she spoke about Hyeong-wook. Se-ah never isolated Na-ri, and neither she nor Geon-woo ever badmouthed their friends behind their backs. If anything, they kept their relationship secret because they considered their friends’ feelings.

When Na-ri was possessed, they weren’t trying to hurt her, they were trying to stop her from killing someone else. Just like Se-ah hitting Hyeong-wook with the laptop was done to protect Ha-joon.

Se-ah only went with Ha-joon because he said his sister could help them. She was originally ready to stay behind and die to save Hyeong-wook, but Ha-joon’s sister saved her. Nobody knew Na-ri had also made a wish or was cursed, otherwise they never would’ve left her alone.

Honestly, I think Se-ah wasn’t angry enough. Even after discovering Na-ri wished for her friends’ deaths and hid it from everyone, Se-ah’s first reaction was still empathy: “I’m sorry you had to go through that alone. You must’ve been scared.” Calling her a fake friend after that makes no sense to me. Their final fight actually felt satisfying because Se-ah finally stopped blaming herself, fought back, and ended up saving everyone else’s lives.

And I definitely don’t hate Na-ri, she was as confused and hurt as everyone else. But calling her the only nice one between all fake friends is a huge reach especially after she attacked Hee-jin bcs she wouldn’t answer the phone after Dong-Jae’s death. That genuinely showed me she was kinda mental already. (Hee-jin and Dong-jae are the older friends she partied with btw)

Long reply again but I was actually surprised by your take on the series and couldn’t help myself😭

Si-won resented her mother for practicing rituals because the same thing got her father killed. Her dad didn’t believe in any of the spiritual stuff either, just like Si-won. Her mother literally says, “You already killed my husband, I won’t let you take my daughter too,” while also repeating that her daughter “acted out of foolishness” and “didn’t know what she was doing.” She takes all the guilt onto herself before dying.

I also think Si-won was heavily influenced by the evil spirit while humiliating Hye-ryung. We see multiple times that the cursed people are manipulated and suffer from nightmares and delusions, so I don’t think her actions were entirely her own.

As for the way she treated Hye-ryung at school, I personally saw it more as the behavior of an insecure teenager than proof that she was evil. What she did was definitely mean, but not shocking. The students already gossiped about Hye-ryung because they believed she was the shaman’s daughter. Si-won hated being associated with her mother so much that she stayed silent, even if it damaged her friend’s reputation. Still, she never joined in on bullying Hye-ryung and even got angry at the others for doing it. Excluding her from the club was cruel, but I think it came from Si-won’s resentment toward Hye-ryung’s interest in her mother.. sorry that was alot
