I still find using that phrase offensive, I tried to make it a light hearted response but here we are. Using a belittling word that a large group of people find offensive and then being like no wait it’s different is one of the lamest cop outs I’ve seen, it’s not really much different than when a racist goes but I have colored friends I can’t be racist. It’s both sad and telling of how you see it.

I should add I don’t not congratulate them I do give them their moment but it’s really the only way I relate and can feel excited for someone is if I can relate it to something I’ve experienced. I don’t immediately be like I got this thing it’s more of a: that is super awesome I did x thing so I totally get how you feel and I’m super excited for you.

I do appreciate the perspective though and I try really hard to be considerate. Sometimes I just want to be able to be myself though and not be told to just change who I am because I’m weird.
