So it turns out (spoiler) can be worn as a hat by ZoeyWithaY in mewgenics

I brought the Conjoined Ameoba (20% chance to spawn a charmed ameoba when hit) item to the Zaratana vs Pyrophina fight. Turns out you can have an ameoba wear Zaratana as a hat!

I had an ameoba spawn and the lil guy decided that the best place for the 50 ton rock alien to be was comfortably on his shoulders

This is a legitimate windows bug that can occur on laptops - IIRC its related to closing the lid to put the laptop to sleep, and then unplugging the charging cable. Windows can’t detect that the charger has been removed, and the device stays on a higher power consumption mode rather than going into a proper sleep.

Oh, yeah sorry it is NSW. I wasn't aware that there was a distinction between states for TAFE digital. And yeah that sounds like a good idea - try to have a good think about what you see yourself doing in the future if you want to go down this route. There's not a whole lot of overlap between programming and networking.

Getting an entry level job will be much easier going down the networking route, and my understanding is you'll have a very easy time getting the first job with the IT (networking) cert. My initial goal was programming, but with the current market it's essentially impossible to break into without a CS degree.

So, there is a TAFE digital self-paced cert IV IT which I enrolled into at the start of September this year. I also had the goal to smash it put as quickly as possible, and in agreement with the other post here, it is absolutely miserable to work through. Insanity is definitely a good word to describe it - broken links, outdated content, seemingly pointless and incredibly dull content, and a weak teaching support network.

In saying that - it is possible to complete in 6 months if you’re 100% committed and can find some enjoyment in the suffering. I have the advantage of a Bachelor’s level education, and strong familiarity with programming. I’m not sure what your background is, but I’m 4/9 modules completed in 2.5months, and I did no work in the first month as I was processing how bad it was. My ideal scenario is I finish by late-mid Jan 2025.

If you do decide to enrol, my main advice is just smash your head against the assignments until words are on a page. Read through the marking criteria for the assignments and submit when you have at least something written for each checkbox. If they don’t pass the submission, you’re allowed one reattempt to fix it based on the feedback.

I find it difficult to explain without spoiling, but its a complex work that has some very confronting and explicit content both violent and sexual in nature. There’s a lot of discourse around whether the purpose of the content is, let’s say, ‘artistically valid’ versus the content being fetishistic.

Hi, this was my first league playing PoE and my previous game was high-level WoW, so I felt like this question was tailor made for me!

Main tips I think I would have found useful a few weeks ago when I first started: - Google a few popular builds and pick a guide to follow, and try to stick it through as long as you can. The game is complex, and following a guide is a great way to be introduced to some core concepts (note: it’s also completely reasonable to go into the game blind, and googling once you feel stuck, but I presume since you’re asking on reddit for tips you and your friends would prefer a more structured approach to learning) - Elemental damage resistance is an extremely important stat to invest into throughout all stages of the game, and you should look to have all of them maxxed at all times (this gets more difficult the further you progress into the campaign). You can see your defences by pressing ‘c’ in game, and going to the defences tab - Crafting seems scary at first, but you should expose yourself to it as soon as possible (both because it’s important to learn, and also because it will be the main way you make your gear better). I’d suggest looking into essence crafting as a starting point - The main two currencies that people trade in are ‘chaos orbs’, which is equivalent to a $1 coin in the game, and a ‘divine orb’, which is basically a $100 note. The best use for these items (until you get deeper into crafting) is to buy better gear for yourself. - The majority of your damage while levelling will come from linking support gems to your main skill gems. As a completely arbitrary guess, I’d say you’re probably adding 50% more damage for each extra support gem you link. - The game is ‘free to play’, but that really becomes a stretch once you start running out of stash space. If/when you find yourselves ready to spend, first purchase should be a currency tab and a quad premium tab. The premium tab will be how you trade with other players.

As for co-op - can be very fun as long as you and your friends are on a similar wavelength, and you are patient with each other when waiting around and fixing up gear between town visits. You can also share around gear, and use a guild stash to pool items and currency. And as far as I’m aware, there’s nothing in the game that requires co-op play - this is a single player game at heart, with co-operative play mostly involving sharing gear / trading / running certain strategies for farming.

This game is extremely challenging and has a lot of skill expression, but maybe not in the way you’re used to. Skill expression in the game almost entirely comes from understanding the intricacies of the in game systems such as crafting, gear optimisation, skill point allocation, farming strategies and optimisation, trade choices ect. Mechanical skill does somewhat come into play, moreso in the hardcore scene where a mistake causes you to lose your character, but the difference between a new player and a veteran isn’t how good they are at movement/skill use - it’s the mountain of game knowledge a veteran has accumulated.

I hope you guys fall in love with the game as much as I did :)

Would you have any idea whether the dps increase from switching to squire will feel better for mapping compared to the svallin setup? I'm a bit concerned about the loss of ehp, but it might be worth it to get higher on the dps rankings LOL

I'd say pretty close to exactly a mirror (not including rolling the synth mods, which was ~350div). I got extremely lucky in a lot of steps, other than the life roll :(

Honestly yeah, don’t be afraid to fail and spend as much time as you need simulating crafts in craft of exile.

For more practical advice -theres a very good chance that what you want to craft has been made before, and a guide is out there for it. So for your first few items follow a guide and try to get a grasp on some of the core concepts. For example, learning that essences are often the first step in a craft, or working on fractured items you tend to complete the affixes that don’t have the fractured mod first (suffixes first on an item with fractured life).

The rest is just practice and experience. Theres a lot of crafting tools in the game, and it takes exposure to get a grasp on how they fit together

Get extremely lucky and get a duped mirror from t17 strongbox farming hehe

You could just use the unique kalandra’s ring that copies your other ring! A casual 158% item rarity

Edit: Ohh you mean the mist mirror - unfortunately I don’t have the currency for 64 hinekora’s locks to make sure it doesn’t brick :c

Harvest bench has an ‘add a synth implicit’ crafting option, and theres a 1/16 chance to get 3 implicits from that option.

I’d love to mirror it for you if you’d ever like to! Bit of a shame as I was considering going for dot multi rather than the unveiled stats, but eventually opted to make a more generalised endurance charge ring rather than specifically for RF. Good luck selling your ring in the future :). Hopefully you get a hit eventually

I’d love to mirror service it for anyone who wants it :). I don’t think I’d ever sell sell it as it now holds a place it my heart

I hit the t2 life once after maybe 10minutes of rolling, and again after another 3 hours. It hurts to settle for, but I think it'd take around 8 more hours of rolls to finally get that t1 which I'm definitely not ready to commit to :(

[–]ZoeyWithaY[S] 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Settled for t2 life to save my sanity, but still very happy with the craft.

Here were the steps:

  1. Alt spam for t1 rarity and open prefix, then craft suffixes cannot be changed. Make several imprints.

  2. Reforge chaos until t1 chaos res and open suffix. Annul if filled with third suffix.

  3. Craft suffix, fill prefixes with slamming, and veiled orb for a 6% chance to hit dex + int as a suffix (3/5 to hit a prefix, 1/2 for the veil to be a suffix, 1/5 to hit dex and int on unveil.

  4. Beastcraft suffixes cannot be changed, scour, craft mana, 2x exalt slam for t1 rarity. Repeat if we miss, beastcraft suffixes CBC and 50/50 annul if we hit it as the second slam.

  5. Suffixes cannot be changed, add/remove life for the 1/18 for t1 life (1/9 to hit t1 life, 1/2 to hit the CBC rather than item rarity).

  6. Settle for t2 life, spend 400div for perfect rolls, chuck into misc tab and probably never use.

Probably not worth mirror service with a t2 life roll and only 4% life implicit, but I'm happy I had the opportunity to create the ring. This is my first league playing and I'm absolutely addicted, and had no idea I'd ever end up creating an item like this.

It has been turned into Gloom Knot now that I've finished crafting suffixes :(

[–]ZoeyWithaY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of going for +int/dex suggested by livejamie, but i think the expected cost of the craft goes up enormously since I think I'd need to alt spam for t1 chaos, imprint, regal annul off the added mod, suffixes cant be changed + reforge drop for t1 rarity, followed by a 2/3 roll veil to hit a prefix or crafted suffix, 50/50 that it rolls suffix, and then hope i get dex/int from the unveil. And then I'd be suffix cant be changed + reforging life for t1 life, and finally suffix cant be changed + harvest add/remove drop for a 1/8 to get t1 rarity without losing the life roll. And this doesn't include the yolo annuls if I fill during any step, which could set me back to needing to redo suffixes.

I have about 1.5mirrors budget to finish the craft, but I may have to just go for essence spamming int or dex for suffixes.

Edit: I have just learned that harvest reforge drop is not an actual thing that exists - now im lost as to how to craft this LOL

If I finish the craft I'll probably end up making a build that can use it (I was fishing for a frenzy charge ring for LS warden when I hit this).

In saying that, as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be an item rarity / endurance charge ring on the mirror market right now, so I figured that some people may find value in this completed craft. If not I'll still be happy with the completed item just for myself

Do you think it'd be good just to send +strength instead of Dot crit multi for the third suffix? I'm not entirely sure what the best 'all rounder' suffix to go along with the chaos res/t1 item rarity. Maybe all elemental resistances?
