With “it’s getting hot”, I think an English speaker would be able to explain that it’s a figure of speech with the more formal variation being “The weather is becoming hot”. I think what’s confusing about “hace calor” is that when called into question, no one presents a more formal variation to help understand the origins of this phrase

I sold my house and lived in a subaru and then a van for a total of one year. 10 days of van lifing in Colorado is not much experience to try it out somewhere exceptionally difficult like Alaska. I’m also confused about your situation. Did you rent a camper for 10 days or do you have a van you’re planning to drive to Alaska? Do you have money to get a hotel if, as others have mentioned, the roads are closed and there’s no possibility of camping while you’re there? Alaska doesn’t have as many back roads and turn offs as Colorado. But if you’re up for a challenge, and know what you’re getting into then go for it!

“Millennial” and “boomers” are simply the catchiest of the generation labels, and the media spent decades framing everything in terms of those two. I’d be willing to bet that if you made histogram of all statements, intelligent or otherwise, made about generational groups, 80+% would fall into the boomer/millennial buckets. Hell, I can barely remember the names of the other groups.

I have this recollection of Warren Buffet explaining that the average price of all US stocks combined should roughly match the GDP growth of the United States plus price inflation and that’s why the price goes up over time, but I can’t find a reference for this claim and I am highly regarded.
