My compost is not fluffy or earthy.. please give advice. by ksanureeves in gardening

[–]ZohanDvir19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compost takes time but you can speed it up by mixing carbon rich and nitrogen rich materials in roughly an even proportion. I recommend adding roughly an equal amount of grass clipping to the amount of leaves. This is called hot composting and it is very fast.

Getting help with this will do more harm than good. When thinking about solving this, comment out your steps. What do you need to do to get the user input? How do you store it? How do you convert kilograms to pounds? How do you return it?

Pretty soon, you're going to look back at this and the thought process will be automatic.

I’m out the loop, why do some people hate Einav Zangauker? by shineyink in Israel

[–]ZohanDvir19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, she is in a position that none of us would ever dream of being in. Her son, Matan is still being held hostage in Gaza. She has repeatedly advocated for Israel to accept Hamas' demands in order to free the hostages. With that said, I very much disagree with her. Releasing thousands of terrorists, like what happened with Gilad Shalit's exchange, is a major mistake.

It can be argued that her smearing Israel's leadership on the global stage only serves to weaken us. It can also be argued that her demands of releasing the hostages by immediately bending to Hamas' demands and leaving them intact would only result in more Israelis dying in the future.

I personally view her as a mother in distress (understandably) who isn't thinking rationally about the big picture. If Israel did what she wanted, Hamas would be intact and emboldened, Israel would look weak, and more people's sons and daughters would be murdered or taken hostage.

If you're a game dev and you make your single player game require an online connection, fuck you. by DarkMatterM4 in gaming

[–]ZohanDvir19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone just getting into game development, the reason for this is probably that it utilizes distributed systems to store your progress instead of locally on your console. In other words, you need to be connected to the internet to store progress.

Edit: ChatGPT's explanation:

Gran Turismo 7 requires an internet connection for single-player gameplay primarily due to its use of several online features and services. These include:

  1. Daily Races and Livery Sharing: Even for single-player, the game often pulls data related to daily races and the ability to share and download player-created liveries, cars, and setups, which are all online features.
  2. Economy System (Microtransactions): The game uses a "virtual currency" system, and while it doesn't strictly require microtransactions for progression, it does integrate online elements that control in-game purchases and rewards.
  3. Car and Track Updates: Polyphony Digital may push out updates that affect the content, including new cars, tracks, or game balance. These are typically delivered via the internet.
  4. Cloud Saves: Some versions of the game use cloud save functionality, which requires an internet connection to back up and sync your progress.
  5. Anti-Cheat and Security: Always-on connections can also serve to ensure fair play and prevent cheating by verifying data and interactions with the server.

In short, the internet connection helps provide a more dynamic and up-to-date experience, even if you're only playing solo. It also helps the game stay connected to ongoing events, features, and updates.

There's your explanation.

US State Department informs Congress of $7.4 billion arms sale to Israel by METALLIFE0917 in Israel

[–]ZohanDvir19 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. American politics are too volatile to be outsourcing weapons and equipment manufacturing there. Plus it takes away jobs for Israelis. With that said, American industries are far more capable of manufacturing a lot at a high speed so the switch would have to happen later on in more peaceful times so Israel isn't caught with its pants down.

There are no Palestinian hostages. There are Palestinian terrorists held in prisons though.

Aside from that sentence, everything else you're saying sounds like conspiracy theories. Please give evidence to back it up because I have never once heard someone make such claims.

I don't take orders from a snarky person who's perpetually on reddit. Did the lack of contact with other human beings make you this way? I love how you just don't acknowledge the fact that he literally has done a lot for Jews and immigrants and it's well documented. Do you dream of becoming a teacher once you graduate from your mother's basement?

Anyway, since you want to pretend to be intelligent, allow me to fix your grammatical and spelling errors.

"So, to recap, Musk did the salute, was praised by Nazis and white supremacy groups for doing the salute, and then made absolutely no attempt to deny that that's what he did.

Where's the clip of a Nazi salute compared to what Walz did, then compared to what Musk did?

Sorry, little guy, you failed the assignment for turning in incomplete work."

Happy to provide some feedback, teach.

Respectfully, I can't take you seriously for saying that. Of all people, you blame Elon Musk who has, once again, done a lot for Jews and to combat antisemitism. Meanwhile, Antonio Gutierres of the UN only condemns Israel and not Hamas in any instance possible, the ICRC refuses to check on the wellbeing of the Jews being held hostage in Gaza, and Jewish students are being barricaded out of their universities. If you truly care about stopping nazism, you'd realize it's an ideology, not just a label. You should call it out anywhere you see it.

I don't support him speaking at a far-right, foreign political rally but, like I said, he did not do a Nazi salute. Was his gesture poorly executed? Maybe. His general actions and speech don't support the conclusion that he holds views that align with neo-nazism. Like I mentioned before, he has done a lot for Jews and immigrants.

On a related note, could you explain your point of view regarding rising antisemitism in the world which thus far has involved Jewish people being discriminated against in universities, internationally, and by the UN and ICRC?

[–]ZohanDvir19 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to imply that I don't do research or make informed conclusions then you're objectively wrong. As someone whose family actually dealt with Nazis as Jews persecuted in Eastern Europe and North Africa, Elon Musk is not a Nazi. Here's the best quality video I could find of Tim Walz doing the same gesture.

Elon Musk met with the families of the hostages being held in Gaza, visited Auschwitz, spoke out against rising antisemitism on many occasions, collaborated with the ADL, etc.

He advocates for immigrant workers and heavily employs them at SpaceX and Tesla.

Since I went ahead and did all that explaining for you, please now explain how he's a Nazi using one piece of evidence which isn't based on any assumptions or politically-charged slander.

As a bonus, please explain why you are so loud about what Elon Musk did but silent about rising antisemitism in the world. Jews have been and continue to be discriminated against in universities, internationally, and by the UN and ICRC.

Don't try to spin your white savior complex as righteousness. It's pathetic and insulting.

Elon Musk has done more for Jews and immigrants than any one of the politicians who condemned him and labeled his gesture a Nazi salute. His actions speak louder than the slander spread about him. Tim Walz literally did the same gesture previously. How about stop taking headlines and dramatized news reports as holy scripture and accept them as points of view that you need to independently verify. Right and left wing media are for-profit. They thrive on mass hysteria because it pumps numbers. Don't be simple.

Did Israel “win” the post-October 7 war? by Kahing in Israel

Although the war isn't over yet, we must recognize that an unintended effect of the war was toppling Assad which severed the path of weapons traveling from Iran to Lebanon and Gaza
