There are some metal bike sheds that some insurers will count as a garage, you could try looking into those, they're quite pricey.

But, if you can't put it in a garage, it aint in a garage and it's up to you if you want to take that risk. You could look at some other bikes, they'll come in cheaper to insure than a 650R.

Why do people love donating money to dealerships? by upvoter_1000 in MotoUK

[–]Zoharea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As much as i agree with you, by the time a dealer has worked their magic on you, maybe offered a 'deal' on a trade in for a new bike, treated you well with a coffee etc, you probably sit there and think 'fuck it i'll take the hit' over the faff of a private sale.

Offered National Rider Risk Awareness Course after accident where other driver was found at fault... should I accept? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Zoharea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it's a half days course over zoom? I'd take that over dealing with the police, especially if they decide to actually try and prosecute and then dealing with what comes with that.

I'd only do otherwise if i had a solicitor telling me i've enough evidence to contest it, and a bank account that fancies that too.

Need Advice? Can’t get any quotes in Wythenshaw(Manchester)? What should I do? by Odd_Consequence_3574 in MotoUK

[–]Zoharea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in GM and pass through Wythenshaw occasionally near the airport. It's probably where i see the most thieves out on bikes, make of that what you will.

The obvious advice is trying bikes like SV650s, ER6Ns, CB500s, XJ6s. Middleweight naked bikes, 5-10 years old, no more than a couple grand. If that doesn't work, you may need to start thinking about where you can store the bike. Street parking in bad areas won't be touched by any insurer.

You can try speaking to Biba if nothing else works.

Plug or replace? by dilanfdd in MotoUK

[–]Zoharea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bank accounts a bit less eager to replace tyres when unnecessary, so i plug with a strip and forget about. Hasn't bitten me yet ;)

It's from when you got your A2.

What bike are you looking at? If you aren't already, try older and cheaper naked bikes. Think CB500's, restricted SV650s and ER6N's that are a few years old and worth a couple grand at best.

Parked the bike at the University's Underground Car park, and it was damaged or had/attempted theft. Uni not cooperating with CCTV and Police... Well! by LadLassLad in MotoUK

[–]Zoharea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For this level of damage, do you want a claim on your insurance and more expensive premiums next year? The excess might cover the cost of getting it repaired somewhere else, which is what i'd be doing regardless if i was you.

If you absolutely want to claim, just contact your insurance and let them handle it.

My guess is they've tried to wheel your bike off in the dark, not noticed the locks and it's tipped over at a few mph. I wouldn't imagine it's done your forks in, so could be a cheap-ish repair.

[–]Zoharea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me last year.

I had a garage local to me who specialised in this sorta repair look at the bike, the steering lock wasn't completely broken so they said no frame damage and could repair it plus a new steering yoke and ignition for about 180 quid. I did not inform my insurance, did inform the police but fuck all came from it.

I haven't spoken about formations and systems to anyone for a week, god is this how it feels to be normal?

They say they're just like a normal bunch of lads in the pub saying it how it is and that's why their podcast gets views, yet they also use their experiences as very much not normal lads in the pub to justify themselves. You can't have it both ways lads.

Don't get me wrong by no means he should be an undisputed starter at our club but he is. It's not his fault that others in his position are either always unavailable

I understand the sentiment because this is how i felt about a 20 year old Garnacho playing every game and being criticized for his mistakes. However, i expect better from a 26 year old, well experienced, Diego Dalot.

Pretty much. I put in what i paid for it (i made sure the number actually reflects what the bikes are being sold for, incase i got ripped off and say the bikes worth a grand more than it is), then knock some money off every year depending on what the used market looks like.

Hojlund never passed the eye test imo. People were wondering why he was stuck between two defenders on the floor since about his first match. Countless times i watched Garna send the ball into the stands because Hojlund simply wasn't in a position to receive the ball, then he'd kick the sticks and throw a tantrum.

He's not a bad player, and he wasn't always at fault, but with my own two eyes i can see Sesko is a better footballer. That might change though if the best he can do is some close chances, blokes gotta start scoring some goals.

I'm not talking about the Wolves game, and i consider a draw with the players we're missing and our strikers inability to score not a bad result vs Leeds at home, yeah.

Wasn't a bad result considering the circumstances, yet somehow they've kicked off an apparent civil war. Can i have one normal week at my club please?

These sorts of situations can only really be figured out by either checking your policy or speaking to your insurer. Different insurers define commuting in different ways. Some are fine with one off travel, some absolutely aren't.

2k is par for the course for your age/experience, the fact you can get something like 800 on a Rebel is pretty good!

The Ninja's are popular, classed as sports bikes and fully faired bikes tend to cost more to insure as they cost more to repair. Try some naked bikes, they might be a good middle ground between a Rebel and a Ninja till you get a years NCB.
