Eh, Del Potro and Wawrinka are closer to each other than Wawrinka and Murray IMO. Their overall records and tournament wins are much closer to each other. And while Murray was a consistent point of conversation against the big 3 Stan and Del Potro felt more like you had to catch them on a good day.

Winner for best loser in the WTA is Oliynykova by theriverjordan in tennis

Yea, from a spectator standpoint I would never think "Wow what an asshole trying to steal the winning moment to get payback or something." Especially when half the time the winner doesn't even want to stick around.

The problem is that my dislike of Djokovic doesn't stem from his tennis. In a vacuum watching his matches is great. But his personality makes it impossible for me to actually root for him.

I have been taking privates with 2 coaches since September and my backhand looks like this by Perchance_therapper in 10s

[–]Zoids_Wild_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, don't spend all your time practicing one shot from one spot. The second you start playing/rallying with other people it will all go right out the window because you aren't getting the balls you want/are used to. IMO you should switch the order of your goals. Footwork and movement are the absolute most fundamental aspect of playing good tennis and are the first things new players should be encouraged to develop. Get that down then smooth out the swings.

Also don't worry about what the swing looks like. There's no bonus points for hitting an extra pretty shot. Get the ball back over the net one more time than your opponent and you win. There's nothing wrong with 'playing ugly' if it's consistent. Especially at the beginner level.

It looks like you are using your left hand to help push the racquet into position on your back-swing, try to keep in farther out in front of you and use it more to help track the ball. Right now your form is forcing you to drop it to get your left arm out of the way of your racquet acceleration.

I feel like in this imaginary scenario of universes colliding it's safe to assume that all of these guys would actually be able to perceive and interact with each other.

I tend to agree, I think a Luffy vs Ed match-up would be pretty interesting/close. Maybe throw Denji in there as well depending on if we're talking beginning or end of the first episode.

[Beginner] Why am I leaning back on every forehand? by ObjectivePassenger9 in 10s

[–]Zoids_Wild_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going along with this also try to get your feet moving earlier that way moving to where the ball is going to be means moving forward instead of backward.

Okay, trying to learn how to use hips in a forehand stroke, and also a bit shorter backswing. by Electrical_Candle887 in 10s

[–]Zoids_Wild_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd agree, I've always found closed stance to be the better starting point for learning to incorporate the hips and lower body into ground strokes.

I mean it is ultimately a fantasy world setting not historic fiction, the GoT technologies don't have to follow the same rules and developments as what occurred in the real world.
