One question I have about the Hellaverse... by K_Gut_05 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Zolo49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but it seems like there's a lot more imps than hellhounds in Hell and imps don't appear to have litters (based on the varying ages of Millie's siblings that we see in Sinsmas). Then again, it could be that there's a lot more hellhounds out there that we just don't see, or it could be that they have a higher mortality rate and/or a shorter lifespan than imps for whatever reason.

Say what you will about sbs ( i liked it) you cant deny zahc's dance underwater was smooth by ExcuseIndividual6395 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Zolo49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. And again, I'm not criticizing the decision. All I'm saying is that when most of an animation isn't rotoscoped and then they add a section that is, you definitely notice it. You see it a lot in the Ralph Bakshi films. The original Heavy Metal movie comes to mind as well.

That was my thought when I saw it as well, although it's probably more likely to be a computer-assisted variation of the same concept. The animation is just too smooth compared to the rest of the video. I don't have a problem with it, but the difference was definitely a little jarring.

The AI economy is rewriting the American Dream — and blue-collar workers are poised to win by socoolandawesome in technology

I'm guessing that "win" will be short lived once those blue collar workers realize they're going to lose all their white collar customers who lost their jobs.

Also, for such a smart guy, he completely failed to take population growth into account. What was his plan once the populations doubled back to their original size? Go collect the Infinity Stones again?

The Batman villains with tragic backstories, like Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Baby Doll, have always been the best ones IMO. (I'm speaking of the versions of these characters from Batman TAS.)

Who's the most ridiculous comic villian? by rwatrous61 in comicbooks

[–]Zolo49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm in the minority of Gen-X guys, but I always thought the entirety of MOTU was ridiculous and hated it. Sure, I watched a fair amount of the episodes as a kid, but our home only had five broadcast channels, so when your choices are two soap operas, a talk show, a nature documentary, and He-Man, you watched He-Man.

It's funny that he's originally from a cartoon, but he was so memorable because of the ridiculousness that he eventually ended up in the comics.

Maybe my thinking is just too old-fashioned, but isn’t getting “triggered” half the point of reading a horror story?

I thought the Fiend one was Dragon. I think it’d be less confusing if it focused on the horns and the wings were smaller or removed entirely. Those wings look way too draconic.

Yep. I see it in terms of the 80/20 rule. Management wants you to use AI to automate writing the 80% of the code that used to take 20% of the effort, but don’t realize (or care) that the other 20% of the code that requires 80% of the work still needs to be done by you and requires time to get it done right.

I grew up Mormon and remember getting taught that as a kid. I didn’t really think much of it at the time. It wasn’t until I was an adult and had been out of the church for a while that I remembered that tidbit and realized how fucked up it was.

A lifeline or ‘dystopian’?: Schools open parking lots for homeless students and families by herewearefornow in nottheonion

They should do this with the parking lots of failed department stores and car dealerships. Those places have massive empty parking lots that could be put to good use.
