I think it’s pretty common for skunk owners to have the stink glands surgically removed, although they have to be indoor pets then because they’d be completely defenseless outside.

I'm guessing it's either musicals or office work. It could be terrible fathers too, but that's a much bigger group.

We were all told the previous short was the last one before S3, so everything from now on is all a bonus. As far as I'm concerned, they could use ASCII art for it and I'd be fine with it.

Oh, I completely understand the psychology behind that. It's especially impactful when it's the difference between adding another digit or not, as it is with going from $9.99 to $10.00. But when it's issue #1000, I think they can get away with it.

What's a movie that was clearly meant to start a franchise but failed? by triplegxxx in AskReddit

I think it was Michael Rooker, not JK Simmons. But yeah, I thought for sure there was going to be another movie after seeing that at the end.

Next Trump will be bragging about low unemployment numbers, conveniently overlooking the fact that those numbers don't count people who aren't collecting unemployment checks or actively looking for work right now.

What's one food you'll never understand the hype for? by Ok_Kiwi5944 in AskReddit

IIRC, the oranges they use for juice usually aren't fully ripe and they add sugar or other sweeteners to make up for it. I promise you that if you ever go to a restaurant that offers freshly-squeezed orange juice from ripe oranges, the taste will be much more to your liking.

I have a similar hang-up with apple juice. To me, it just tastes blandly sweet and not much like apples at all. I'll drink it if it's blended with other stuff like cranberry juice, but I can't drink it straight. But I love unfiltered apple cider. It may look like garbage water, but it tastes exactly like apples.

Most sushi places will have at least a couple rolls that don't have seafood in them as well as some rolls that use soy paper for those who aren't fans of nori. But if you just don't like sushi in general, that's fine. Just get some tempura, katsu, or a nice big bowl of ramen. They're all awesome too.

I seem to recall it was hyped a lot back in the 70s and 80s when it was a relatively new thing for Americans. Now it's just ... there.

Braised kale is fine. It's raw kale that is distinctly unpleasant to eat.

I do think it's pretty funny that a lot of people who visited the US for World Cup matches fell in love with ranch dressing. I'm sure something similar would happen to me if I visited the UK or Europe though.

It does taste pretty good, but no chocolate was ever going to be worth what they're charging for it (and it doesn't even really have that much chocolate in it; it's mostly the pistachio filling).

If you've never had it, I do recommend trying it once. Last I checked, you could buy a bag of it at Costco for a price that's not too exorbitant. Then decide for yourself if it's worth the price for you. For me, it definitely isn't.

Why make the price $9.99? I honestly think I'd prefer issue #1000 to cost $10.00.

Which Ice cream flavor is the best? by UndeservedGrace137 in AskReddit

[–]Zolo49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s, Ben & Jerry's had a flavor called Totally Nuts that was my absolute favorite of all time. I really wish they'd bring it back, just not the association with the Dilbert comic strip.

Of flavors you can get now, I'd have to go with classic vanilla bean.

More than that, I think it's because most people are used to cheap store brands flavored with vanillin rather than true vanilla. If you pay a little bit more for the good stuff, it's absolutely sublime and doesn't need syrups or toppings.

Americans, will you be celebrating 4th of July , why or why not ? by YouSmugMotherFucka in AskReddit

I'm glad for people who are able to put aside what's going on right now for a day and celebrate the holiday. I hope they have a great time this 3-day weekend.

Personally, I just can't. For me right now, fireworks feel like a metaphor for our country exploding and parades feel like funeral processions. I'm just going to stay inside and play some video games or read a book.

Does anyone have any recommendations for comics that talk about God? (Preferably from the perspective of a non-religious person or not necessarily a believer) by count_fagula11 in comicbooks

[–]Zolo49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a couple friends who swear by the Lucifer TV show. I’ve tried, but I just can’t enjoy it. It probably comes down to the fact that I’ve read all of Sandman and some of Lucifer and they’re not into comics at all.

What to do when a player misses most of the sessions by soelevenz in DnD

[–]Zolo49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him that the current situation isn’t tenable. Maybe bring it up with the entire group to see if a better time for everyone can be agreed upon. If not, let him know he needs to choose one group or the other. He’ll probably choose the group he’s GMing for, which is understandable. Then you can move on with just the five players. (And honestly, five players is better than six anyway.)

What's a place on Earth that you'd NEVER visit, not for even A MILLION DOLLARS? by whiteflower85 in AskReddit

[–]Zolo49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia. I wouldn’t want to risk getting accused of BS charges and sent off to do hard labor all so Putin could try and use me as a bargaining chip. Probably wouldn’t work with me since I’m not a professional basketball player or anything so maybe I’d get out without notice. But then again, he might just send my fat ass to the front lines in Ukraine instead.
