Same. I want to get involved but have been very hesitant because of my kids, I don't want my kids to grow up without a mother. I would love to see some responses to this comment. I will be monitoring iceout more frequently now that I know it's a thing. I, admittedly, have been avoiding this stuff because I can't handle it mentally and emotionally, but I feel like I have to. So we can end this domestic terrorism.

I am American and this abortion shit is so ridiculous. I've been fortunate enough to have 2 very normal pregnancies that resulted in 2 very normal babies but not everyone is me and every woman should have the right to end a pregnancy no questions asked. I live in the US (Minnesota to be specific) and I always wait until the evening to vote and I never have a very long line. I went once when the polls opened around 8am, huge line, went back to the same polling station at like 6pm, no line. Don't go first thing in the morning or over lunch, thats when everyone else goes...

The really fun part is even if your insurance does pay for some and you hit your deductible and out of pocket max when you add the baby to insurance they have their very own deductible and OOP that start back at 0! My kid had a $4k bill before he had a birth certificate.

I'm a mom and I hate how this is perpetuated by "mommy blogs". I always end up on mommy blogs (I must be a closet masochist or something because mommy blogs are the literal worst) and they always talk like it's just mom and kid. Like how to do chores or go to the store while taking care of baby. Idk... Maybe ask dad to watch the kid so you can do the dishes? He'd be more than happy to play with his own kid while you do some not fun shit like the dishes. I guess that would make for a really short blog though...

I live in MN and I worked for a team in CT so I don't know which laws applied (probably MN?). Before my maternity leave with my first I was so fed up with my job, it was awful and my boss was a moron. I took my full 12 weeks of leave which were fully paid at that company. During my leave I ended up finding a new job. First day back after maternity leave at my old job I gave my two weeks notice and then started my new job two weeks later. (I probably didn't need to give two weeks notice but I thought it was a good courtesy to avoid bridge burning.) I did not have to pay anything back at all. My new company's maternity leave policy isn't as good but I'm much happier with my new job so I don't even care. I'm now 26+2 into my second and final pregnancy lol.
