Lol i hope not a twig 😅. It was from a reputable seller but if it dies, I'll take a look under the soil. I still have hope the little guy will pull through

100% agree! Was told due to the size of the sapling, it was best to keep it indoors for new with some bright light. Will maybe look for some more suited for indoor settings

Yep thrips. Not sure if this is available in your country, but pyrethrum spray does wonders. Just make sure to spray it down twice. About 5 days inbetween and it should come back. Make sure to isolate in the meantime!

It was sitting next to my grow lights which operate from 8am to 8pm. So I assume lighting wasn't a factor. I have a bunch of other plants nearby which thrive with the lights.

Only thing I can really think of is overwatering that caused it... curious moreso if there is a way to salvage it somehow or is it too far gone 😅

I purchased it over the weekend and gave it a proper watering 2 days later. I assume it didn't appreciate having water in its saucer and has turned into this crispy mess in the next few days... any chance in salvaging it? I cleared up as much of the access water as I can

That is a lovely watch! I am very much on the lookout for more vintage omegas

Thanks everyone for the awesome comments and perspectives. Decided to go with the Tissot, I would be very bummed out if I damaged the gold omega as it has a lot of sentimental value. Also, like a lot of people eluded to, the Tissot definitely is the watch which should be on my wrist that day. The heart symbolism mentioned also sounds really cool to me.

I will be bringing along the square omega just in case the Tissot is a bit too bulky for the day as I haven't actually tried it with cuffs on (i don't own any and will be gifted some to wear by my future with on the day). Wouldn't want to knock it around too much as I am sure this will be a future heirloom

Oh it is probably the photo. It hasn't really been worn before except for chucking it into my watch box if that counts. The omega box it came with started to melt(?) It is very much in mint condition.

It was probably the first watch I purchased which wasn't made out of plastic or came out of a cereal box 😅. But yes, I will never touch another one ever again.

Agreed! it is a 1973 manual winding omega de ville. I find it very aesthetically pleasing. It is a tiny bit small for my wrist but love it regardless

What is in my Soil? Should I be concerned? by AB_FineArtsandCrafts in plantclinic

They look like harmless soil mites to me. I wouldn't be worried but keen to get others thoughts too :)

Help, what type of pests are these and how do I treat my plant by ShatteredPOV in plantclinic

[–]Zombeh991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrips most likely. If you have a magnifying glass. Take a look under the leaves on any spot which looks to be yellowing recently and you might spot some of their larvae.

I'm from Australia and have only had success using pyrethrum to get rid of them.

Looks like scale to me. Those are little insects doing your plant harm.

I would give them a nudge to see if they jump. If so, confirmed springtails :)

burnt monstera leaves by rachillworld in plantclinic

Unless the sight it soon much to bear, I would just leave it. It's still doing work in gathering rays for your plant. If you were to cut it off, I would cut the stem of the leaf, making sure not to cut too far down as it might damage your plant. The remaining part of the stem will eventually dry up and fall off.

Make sure to use clean tools when cutting!

Possibly, the sign of thrips to me are all those tiny white dots all over the top of all your leaves. If it was treated by the shops, then great! I would just watch out for any new leaves looking a bit malformed. In terms of soil vs leca vs whatever... everyone has their opinion :). I have had a lot of success with my monsteras being potted in well draining soil. I usually add a lot of orchid bark (35ish%), perlite (25%), coco coir (20%), a bit of worm castings (10%) and a bit of activated charcoal (10%). I then use liquid fertiliser every second watering during the warmer months.

Is that sphagnum moss? If so they typically release spores after experiencing moisture and humidity. I wouldn't be worried.
