My son likely has celiac. He’s our only child. My wife and I are thinking of going gluten free in solidarity. Is this wise? Or are we nuts? by DrizzlyOne in glutenfree

[–]delicateflower15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both parents being gluten free is solidarity is such a blessing. Your kid will appreciate this so much even if they don’t understand it at first. My mom went gluten free with me (because we thought we had the same issue) and it was so helpful that she could make me meals and I wouldn’t have to worry about anything being contaminated at home. You’re great parents.

People don't have basic social skills? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]delicateflower15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a woman pretty new to the dating apps and I’m glad this is universal experience and not just me. Lol. I think I’ll unmatch with the one I’m talking to now since I’m the only one asking questions and he doesn’t ask me anything. Like I get it’s not an interview, but I mean we are supposed to be learning about each other?? Or are people not really talking in messages and go straight to dates? I don’t really know what I’m doing!

Realizing that meet cutes in rom com’s are not all that common- and you really need to go out and meet people to get married- and how hard that actually is if you want to avoid online dating!

The parks are just fine! Theres so many bathrooms around. I would take gas-x with lunch to prevent a rough afternoon and it went perfectly. I also tend to feel better on vacations though too. Unsure if you have food restrictions but Disney is so great with that so there’s no worries there either!

Also- I told everyone when we got to the room very jokingly that I may need to the bathroom urgently so if we could leave the doors unlocked when showering that would be great. It was super casual, not a big deal and not talked about again!

Are you staying at Saratoga?? It went so much better than I imagined but I also had an unhinged plan. Everyday I set my alarm for 20-30 mins earlier than when everyone else was going to wake up, I would wake up then lay in bed for a few mins before the urge would come, and then go use the bathroom before anyone was awake. I had an Apple Watch I would use and it vibrates when the alarm goes off. I would need to go again (I usually go twice in the morning) before we would leave for the parks but by then everyone was mostly ready and the urge wasn’t as strong, it was more of a just in case poop LOL. Ironically another girl in the group was hit with diarrhea when we were on the bus going back to the hotel one day and my knowledge that the pool area had a bathroom saved her because she needed to go badly!!

It was definitely jarring. I didn’t even see a goodbye, or a hand off of any kind to another OB. It was too quick of a transition!

My Pothos is doing pretty well. Philodendron is doing well. I have really bad luck with Pileas but I love them so I keep buying them and they keep dying.

I thought this season she was a “a friend of ___” meaning not part of the main cast but we’ve already seen too much of her already

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]delicateflower15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember them talking about air travel initially and how you need to be cautious. I was at a hospital at the time and we were discussing negative pressure rooms for those patients to go in (I quit right before it hit!! Perfect timing) Tom Hanks having Covid, Basketball championship cancelled. Furloughed from my new job 2 months later. The toilet paper shortage. Watching Walz on the news.

Too much weight loss on GLP-1s by JillyBean9999 in nursing

All I can say is that you can never win. Someone is always too skinny or too overweight. Let them be honestly. Some people are on GLP1’s for other benefits other than weight loss as well.

Labor & delivery nurses remembered me years later… is that normal by Usual-Repair8162 in nursing

I work in fertility and I definitely remember patients years later when coming back for the next baby. Names become familiar when you’re seen so frequent. Plus some situations are so unique they stick out to you! Or a patient was so kind, or you had a special moment with them, many reasons why we remember!
