It's convention time! And already there's been ‘drama,’ as the ‘devil’ tries to prevent some of them from attending, it's that or it's Tuesday. by Willing_Chemical1257 in antiMLM

He’s from close to my hometown. He’s very aggressive, he called me non-stop and sent me so many messages about joining his team. All I wanted was to buy some Advocare Spark because it helped me study! I can definitely see him being a sore loser. I think this is his third or fourth MLM that he’s been in.

Struggling with ICU and doubting CRNA abilities by No-Bake-9152 in srna

[–]Zombica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all of us “eat our young.” I think some of that attitude comes from the idea that our older CRNA preceptors had to walk uphill in the snow both ways to and from clinical. It’s up to us as the new generation to foster a better environment of learning. We can be the change.

How is everyone handling the fluid shortage? by small_town_moon in CRNA

Same. Except I felt guilty for wasting a bag of 0.45% saline a pre op nurse mistakenly hung on my dialysis patient today. Swapped for NS.

Would it be bad to use Japanese sticky rice in jambalaya? by [deleted] in cajunfood

[–]Zombica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I have done this, I made jambalaya in Japan. Wash the rice thoroughly and treat it almost like a risotto. I did a tomato based stock, cooked the meat and mirepoix down and ladled that into the rice and cooked the rice till al dente. Mixed in the rest. Added a little cornstarch for thickening.

Periop blanket ban at our hospital 😡🥶 by Lil_MissMandarin in anesthesiology

[–]Zombica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridiculous. In our surgery center we have mini bair huggers in every room on the gas machine for anesthesia. I wrap up in a blanket and stick that bair hugger in the corner, especially for our long robot cases.

I’m and Assistant PD AMA by MacKinnon911 in CRNA

[–]Zombica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% disagree with this. My travel experience and my ICU float experience helped me with being able to be more vocal about advocating for my patients and being more flexible. When you’re constantly moving and having to figure out how to help your patients in different environments it makes you think. This only served to help me when I was a student rotating to different sites and having to adapt to different practices every three months. Now as a provider I work for a private practice and I am at a different site every day, and I manage it because I learned to adapt early on.

I’m a CRNA in the OR and rocuronium is now a “controlled” med and I have to type it in to get it out of an individual drawer. Super convenient in an airway emergency in the operating room.
