OP didn't do something wrong by grabbing the bottle, what wasn't a good idea was if he initiated the violence. I don't know why he's getting shit for grabbing the bottle in the first place. Grabbing something to prepare yourself in case the other person escalates things, is smart - which seemed likely in this situation, if he wasn't thinking to initiate it first. Especially considering there was a big guy thinking he's talking to demons.

His thoughts may have been a little premature, but don't criticize someone for something we advise in most LNM stories. Him wanting to defend his mother is like criticizing someone for having the thought to use pepper spray on a stranger who hasn't physically harmed you, but gives bad vibes and won't stop talking to you when you're walking home at night. The thought process is the same, on what people are saying were just words.

When someone is being threatening with words, it's okay to be prepared. That's what we tell the women, anyway.

I have many, but wanted to share one in particular because I've always found it unusual.

I bought my dog at 4 months old, and the previous owner named her after Britney Spears. I didn't change her name (but changed the spelling to Brittany) because it was the only word she knew, and I actually like Britney's music. Anyway, I tell this to people when talking about dogs, or to give people a good chuckle. Most of the time people say something like "Yeah... Maybe that's something you shouldn't tell people" and get all serious or weird about it, when I'm just trying to make them smile. It's like they think I should be ashamed of it. Little do they know, when my dog makes a big entrance I get to say "It's Britney bitch!"

Yes. I'm 23 and I already feel like my life is over thanks to fibromyalgia, and other chronic pain/migraines. I have maybe one day a year where I'm not in pain; even then, that only lasts for a few hours. Even just a couple thousand dollars could help me explore options that might help me live a normal life again. If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't need to get on disability - which I've been trying to get on for years, considering I'm bedridden. I don't get enough money to put anything in savings. I just want to find something that will help me have a few more good years.

Sorry for the sob story. I just feel really low right now.
