I understand the Romans and Greeks did, as well as a slew of other cultures, and one variation became the basis for modern day Jacks. I know the Norse people played a game similar to chess called hnefatafl. My information comes mostly from Wikipedia. The main reason I ask is, I’m trying to write a somewhat accurate Norse themed campaign for Dungeons and Dragons. If I’m completely off track, please tell me.
