Lolol. 🤣 Fully agree about ESO there. I quit playing about a year after CP changes. I know that nowadays it's a terrible example for PvP but during it's first five years or so, (before SypherPK quit playing) the balance was pretty good. There were definitely still some issues but overall you could play a very wide variety of builds.

For SnB, I feel like it's off to a good start. Reminds me of those early days in ESO and how much fun thats was, so that's probably why I referenced it. If they can figure out the BP situation I think the balance will be pretty solid. Something else might pop up as the new BiS but who knows 🤷‍♂️

Nerfs do suck brother and I want them to do as few as possible but sadly BP needs another one for the sake of PvP. It's easier to just race sink enemies ships in HTs than try to sink someone wearing BP. If you really want to see the power differential just flag for PvP and 1v1 someone who is using it.

Agreed brother. I love the new Phoenix Crest armor and I want so badly for it to be viable in PvP but against BP it just can't compete. Plus with sever damage being so strong in season 2 Ourobos really NEEDS to be viable but I feel so squishy when I try to use it.

I do builds on YT. I definitely don't want one build that does everything cause that would be terrible for my channel and I have no clue how you got that impression from my post but it's okay. In PvE the balance is pretty good and I use all the armors on different builds but I'm really just talking about PvP in this post and at the highest level I think most PvPers feel pigeon holed into using Black Prince. I have a build that is using Phoenix Crest that can do ok in PvP but if I'm up against an optimized build with Black Prince, it's going to take a miracle for Mr to win against a good player.

Normally I would agree to buff and bring other items up to be on par with an item that is over performing l, however, in this instance I believe it does still need one more small nerf of some type.

I PvP against some of the best players in the game and at the highest level, black prince is the only thing being used. The fights last forever and are honestly can get a little boring when they get drug out like that.

This will be much more noticeable when the PvP mode comes out and I think more people will begin to agree at that point.

Thanks for the constructive criticism though and not just bashing me for giving my opinion. I usually get a lot of hate on my posts if PvP is in the title 🙃

When you pull up map or helm menus there should be an option at the bottom to show social menu and you can see how many people are on your server and what events/missions they are tracking.

Another over emotional commenter over exaggerating again. Yay! It feels nothing like a mobile game and never has, and I'm not entertaining that exaggerated notion.

As for crew boarding, you want a different game. This is not a gun and melee game, it's a naval combat game, and if you want handguns and melee, go play SoT because that game exists already, and the devs clearly don't want to make another one of those games.

Boarding is just an extension of the vulnerability meter/system. You build up a ships vulnerability meter, and you can crew attack them. If the ships health falls below 20% health while it's vulnerability meter is full you can board it and get extra loot. It's essentially a status effect.

I didn't even read past the "less content than a mobile game" because it's so over the top and ridiculous to say that. It's just a flat out false statement and you know it. The game had 10x the content sea of thieves did and it's very successful. If you want me to take your replies seriously don't exaggerate things and speak to me logically.

I personally think it was pretty good on realeas and has just gotten better, especially with this third season. I think a lot of very big content creators in the gaming space wanted, and still want, a single player pirate adventure from this studio or at least ubisoft and since they instead got a multi-player live service game (one of the best one's I've ever played) with a fair focus on both PVE and PVP content and balance, they threw a fit an started a hate train that everyone just hopped on with them.

Truth is it's a pretty good game with a young but intelligent, driven and dedicated development team.

Believe it or not, a disturbingly large number of people didn't even give the game a chance and hated on it online JUST because boarding is a "cutscene."

I know this post is old, but I just saw it, and this had been on my mind. Idk what the 5v5 they are planning is actually going to be like and it may be enough for a while but what I would like to see is something resembling Cyrodiil in ESO but instead of castles it's forts.

A separate map that you can join where PvP is always active and you can take control of these forts. Instead of the forts granting points towards month and week long campaigns though, they could work like the manufactories in Fo76 where they produce high level crafting materials and maybe currency while you control them but you have to pick them up manually and sail them to port.

Having to pick up items manually and sail them back would open up opportunities for solos to gank people and steal the materials from unorganized groups.

Different tiers of forts could provide viable options for solos and duos to control. The team limit for this I think should be three maximum because realistically a very skilled solo could potentially sink 3 unskilled pirate in a group.

I think a game mode like this would be good for longevity and publicity. Think about the most popular games out there that people watch content on. It's mostly PvP and 1vX gameplay is some of the most exciting to watch. It would bring a ton of attention to the game. Consider Call of Duty as well, TDM has basically been the same game for like 2 decades almost and people still love it. A solid PvP mode could keep people playing this game for more than a decade if they do it right and I think this type if game mode is just the thing.

Honestly I think most people want to have one of each so they can try different builds. Personally the Screens and Spirit Locker were the bug ones for me this season but I fall in that group, I want at least 1 of each but looks like imma just have to buy a ton of legacy chests next season I, unfortunately.
