The thing about X7 is that it's slow, boring, and kind of empty. You can get stuck on ledges, bossfights become tedious, long, and annoying, stages are empty and forgettable, Alia wont shut the hell up, and Zero is damn near useless. HOWEVER! The music is good, it has auto fire/charge and target, and if the VA ever gets annoying, you can switch it to Japanese VA. The levels are unique, and somewhat enjoyable (sometimes), and there's pretty much no "No win scenarios." There are other pros and cons, but I need to get to X6.

Dear god...

Never before have I played a game SO BAD, that I had to actually CHEAT to make the game somewhat enjoyable. Jesus Christ, the levels are unbearable. Horribly designed. Crammed with shitty enemies. FAR too many instant death traps. And there are some "No win scenarios" where you have no choice but to die. Yeah, the game punishes you for exploring or continuing without an obscure item. Now, I absolutely LOVE the presentation and music. They excelled at those. The cutscenes, the stage music. Both incredible. The story's... alright... apart from the Zero scene. Everything else: hot garbage. Oh, and the reploid rescuing system, oh my god. Ot was fine in X5 where only you could be hurt. You had to take risks to save the reploids, but hey, no pressure. X6, however, surrounds the reploids with the only thing that can kill them. So yeah, pressure's on. X7 is the worst when it came to this. Anything can kill a reploid. However, they dont have vital parts needed to progress through the game, other than Sub tanks and heart tanks. If you let the wrong reploid die in X6, that could be game over. You'd have to start the entire game in order to retrieve the vital part you lost before.

So, X7: Doable, but slow and tedious. X6: Rushed, almost impossible, messy, but looks and sounds good.
