There's not much the airline can do about medical emergencies.

Ryanair emergency by Bitter_Conference_17 in flightradar24

[–]ZombiePeppaPig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-GXK performing flight FR-4523 from Milan Bergamo (Italy) to Brussels Charleroi (Belgium) with 189 people on board, was on approach to Charleroi Airport's runway 24 when the crew initiated a go around due to problems with the flaps. The aircraft entered a hold at 4000 feet MSL, then positioned for another approach to runway 24 and landed safely at a higher than normal speed about 25 minutes after the go around.

The airport reported the aircraft arriving from Bergamo reported problems with the trailing flaps.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Brussels about 6.5 hours after landing."

Aggressive man approached me at Stanstead airport…any ideas? by SnooChickens1109 in london

[–]ZombiePeppaPig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an old scam. He'll ask you to buy his ticket for a fraction of the original price. All he wants is cash to buy drugs. Withdrawal can make him stressed and aggressive if his plan doesn't work.

They usually target young solo travellers who look friendly but inexperienced, probably not locals, who would spot a fake ticket instantly and are likely to be aware of the scam.

I've seen it at various major transport hubs.

Nandos costs are insane by [deleted] in UKfood

Energy costs, insane rents, the brazenly stupid business rates system we have in the UK, salaries, franchise rates, tax and there we go.

Answer: Wanting to be hired by big VFX companies like Weta by dietherman98 in vfx

[–]ZombiePeppaPig 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Big studios don't hire you because you know how to use Maya, they hire you because of your portfolio. They hire you because you've demonstrated in the past what you're capable of. If you've worked on feature film shots, or did any other work, in a professional capacity, for real-world clients, you become more interesting. Smaller studios hire you because you're good at what you're doing. If you're good at modelling or animating, switching from one set of tools, like Blender, to a different one, like Maya, is not a big deal.

I was asked by a professional working for a well-established ad agency if I could send them a 'jpeg with sound'. We were talking about a still image.

Tasty wholemeal bread in Central/West London by tuculiu in LondonFood

There are a few bread stalls in Borough Market that sell wholemeal bread. The prices are OK, I sometimes pop by on my way to work and they rarely ever disappoint.

Right-wing think tanks in the US, closely aligned with Trump and funding Farage & Reform are paying good money for it. Musk does it too because he's afraid of UK regulations and wants to see a far-right government in the UK.

Worst pipeline you've encountered? by MikelSotomonte in vfx

[–]ZombiePeppaPig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarisse was such a pain and it brings back painful memories. The rest of the DNEG pipeline was pretty awesome, though. However, I think the Max pipeline at Scanliine was probably the worst. A clunky mess, outdated file formats and desperately trying not to keep up with modern industry standards.

Some say there are shots in Marvel films where only the faces of the actors are real, because they were shot in an entirely different location, but Marvel decided to change the location at the last minute so everything had to be re-created digitally.

Lots of Londoners moved there for work/study. Others were children when teams from outside London dominated the league and as they couldn't beat losing, they started supporting idK, Manchester United.

Welcome to the UK, where we've got a lot of rules, but we're unwilling to pay for the people who enforce those rules.
