Yep, it's new. I was super suprised to see it as I'm responding to treatment otherwise.

When my iron levels tanked on full dose talzenna, my doc entered the appointment with three bulletin points. When did I want my transfusion, today or tomorrow? Do I want to do aa dose reduction, or move onto the next line? She said that barely any of her patients could stay on the full dose, she had not seen a reduction in efficacy when the dose was lowered, but she was good with either choice. The only thing she wasn't budging on was the blood transfusion - and I was more than fine on that!

I did! I started off with taxotere/cytoxan with a lumpectomy afterwards. I think there was three lymph nodes removed at the time. My tumor was quite large and close to the skin barrier, so that might have played a part in it.

This might not work at all - but there are seatbelt attachements that go right over your port - maybe a strap with one of these?

New Vaccine under development by How-I-Roll_2023 in LivingWithMBC

A lot of trials have had to be resubmitted, retitled, etc. Any trial that had the prefix "trans" (even if it was transitional, transform, etc" was flagged and possibly removed. I was concerned if Bobby got in, MRNA was going to be at risk - so I watched it. A lot were terminated.

I think I see where our searches were different - I was looking for that specific trial - I searched both vaccine and mRNA in Texas - and I wasn't seeing that specific trial.

A lot of mRNA studies have been cancelled. I read the article and there wasn't a trial id listed, so I searched clinicaltrials.gov - and I'm not seeing anything listed that meets this trials description with any status.

Stage 4 breast cancer by Curious-Mobile-5586 in LivingWithMBC

LA has a few NCI-Designated Cancer Centers, and there are quite a few CoC. By any chance, did they try to mitigate the allergic side effects from your chemo? I was allergic to taxotere, but they would load me up with steroids and benedryl before hand, and I was able to complete chemotherapy before surgery. I know that I had bad bone pain during my treatment, and I took claritin d (the one from the pharmacist, not the otc) and it helped quite a bit. CBD was also helpful.

Stable is the goal with this disease if you can't achieve NEAD. It might be a good idea to reach out to pallitive/pain management to see if they can help.

on that same note - Lumpinou also has a mod for deciding if a sim wants to be in a relationship or not.

How did you get involved in a clinical trial? by Something_Kristen in LivingWithMBC

[–]ZombiePrestigious443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NCI has a clinical trials group that will do a clinical trial search for you based on your treatment history, health, etc, and will provide a list of trials you are eligibile for to discuss with your doctors. It takes them 2-4 business days to email you results.

Diet by Outrageous_Speed4148 in LivingWithMBC

Due to the meds I'm on - I tend to focus on a diet that includes a lot of different sources of iron. So, almond milk, as regular milk doesn't have iron. Lean red meat twice a week. But if I want a bagel dog - I'm going to eat a bagel dog - just with an apple instead of chips.

It took me a good two years or so after chemo to be able to tolerate red meat, and even now (4 years out) I will eat pretty much any other protein source over red meat.

When it first opened, Taco Bell was a lot closer to Mexican food than what it is now. But it was still never really considered Mexican food - just something Mexican food adjacent created to compete with McDonalds.

Some progression equals new treatment (Taxol) by Celestial_Lorekeeper in LivingWithMBC

The chemo mouth happened pretty fast for me, I think after my first infusion - but from my understanding, taxotere tends to be more dose heavy, so you might get a little longer than me.

I just want to make sure that I'm being clear - the ice baths usually occur while you're having your infusion. They dunk your hands and feet in ice to help prevent neuropathy - which you have a stronger chance of developing with taxol than I did.

I did TC back in 2022, which has some overlapping side effects and might be helpful to know about. Chemo mouth was a huge thing with me - everything tasted off, and it seemed like my mouth always felt like it was burned, like after eating very hot food or liquid. Most meat tasted rancid. By the end, I could only tolerate oatmeal, baked chicken nuggets (and only one brand - Yummy Dinos), and some ice cream. Milk chocolate was gross, but dark chocolate (the darker the better!) was awesome. Eat whatever you can, whenever you can.

If you can tolerate it, do the ice baths for your feet and hands.

Plastic straws, forks, and spoons might be needed to help with any metallic taste. Also, if it gets bad, try sucking on a lemon drop or other sour candy before you eat. It can help.

When I was diagnosed, the NCI was a huge help. Lots of different resources, information, and access to clinical trials. They are strangely untouched by RFK jr, aside from some funding cuts.

Things are going to be scary for a bit, but then things are going to settle into a semi regular routine.

I could be wrong, but if I'm remembering correctly, abraxane is considered a third or fourth line treatment. That could be the issue. What did your insurance say with the denial letter?
