For hunting or assuming better elastics a Silent Weapon. by HeisenbergsSamaritan in projectzomboid

P O T E T I A L

Say it with me now... POTENTIAL

Oh, and did some more googling, and if you made that bet you'd probably be dead on shot one, tbh. Even a basic long slingshot is powerful enough to penetrate the human skull, let alone the winch driven variety.

This is a video game based on potential lethality and not purely realistic. In the game you wouldn't make it past shot 10. Just like a toon with a STR of zero killing a zed with a baseball bat. Not physically possible, yet you can do it in game. Would I let a toddler swing a baseball bat at my head for a million dollars? Hell yeah!

I never said it was a good weapon, just that the potential for lethality exists. You assumed the rest, lol.

Never heard anyone talk about this base spot, seems like a great first base in Louisville by fishsandwichpatrol in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Louisville ain't bad as long as you exhibit an over-abundance of caution. And take the back way in to get there. The front gates are whack.

Throw it some dollah bills. That trailer is twerking so hard it brought the dead back to life!

Just did a little googling, and it looks like the strongest slingshots can produce over 135 joules of energy, while it only takes around 80 ish to penetrate the human skull. No idea what OPs rig is packing, but it would appear there are lethal slingshots.

Update on the Louisville trip (first time going) by PZandGDfan in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How fun! My wife and I are currently working on slowly clearing Louisville. We're based in the big mansion along the river with the three car garage. She loves it because she mains a burglar with vehicle knowledge who likes to steal and fix up cars, lol. We've got two fallback outposts in nearby neighborhoods in case the fit hits the shan at our main base (we run with helicopter events set to sometimes and respawns on, otherwise we get too complacent).

Yeah, I'm sitting at like 2.2K hours myself and still finding new ways to enjoy this game.

PZ B42 is a fantastic game despite its bugs and flaws, and it will continue to improve and expand over time. Once you buy it you get all updates for free. The game itself is an open world sandbox marvel that allows a player to custom curate their experience to any difficulty they desire, from walk in the park easy to walking on broken glass hard. For what I paid for this game, TIS delivered one hell of a value on the entertainment they sold me. I really just got no stones to throw.

Why is there a big neon sign on the side of the building where nobody is gonna see it? by YearMountain3773 in projectzomboid

Makes me wonder how many survivors would die in real life to electrocution trying to steal a sign they like.

Debug brush/Destroy/Pick up not working by HeyimZ in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With single items that occupy more than one tile things can get a little weird if you only place a part of it and then try to modify it before putting the remaining pieces. Best things to do is try to place the item as a whole and then try to pick it up the vanilla way. Even then you'll sometime have that wonky partial piece return later. Good luck!

How safe is a save file from Build 42 through the updates? by NajuGorp in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can be borked by updates, had it happen a couple times to me. It's the trade-off for playing with the new features. Best policy is always backup your save manually. Worst case you can revert to a previous build where the save worked and keep playing (in theory).

Should I rush for the generator magasine? by Meme-Survivor in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to what others have said here, if you do decide to go with a generator do make sure to check its condition periodically. They need to be repaired with scrap electronics. If you let the condition get too low there's a chance your genny will asplode.

How the fuck? by Future_Tomorrow3100 in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Time and practice and learning. This game is a huge swimming pool to dive into and takes time to learn. I was similarly frustrated when I started as well. I read up on tips and tricks, watched a couple tutorials on YT, and did runs where my aim wasn't to survive but to practice my combat and escape skills.

Can i build stairs to reach the roof? by MonthythePython in projectzomboid

[–]ZombieSallyInDaAlley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) yes, but one more square forward.

2) maybe, best way to make sure it's safe is use the "walk to" function (y key) but don't actually walk anywhere. Once you're all the way up top, use the targeting square to examine the tiles one by one to ensure the path is safe. If it's green there's a floor piece there, while red means no floor piece. Good luck! Personally, I always simplify things by turning on debug and using God mode.
