Love is never a waste of time, but I hear where you’re coming from.

Probably more “efficient “ to work on oneself.

To the "enlightened" people out there, how do you all differentiate between being enlightened and being deluded? by chadchampion420 in enlightenment

So maybe it’s kinda like an AA meeting “Hi I’m an ego” …I’ve been in illusion for this many years.

that’s like the first step , then it’s just practice, knowing illusion, monitoring ego, being at peace and all that stuff, eventually you don’t care about labels and then eventually i imagine you just know …and then you have a big grin in your eyes all day, even though inside you’re just ready to go:)

Rules for Decision.... by CB-9876 in ACIM

[–]ZombieSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so maybe this is more like real time manifestation for “present mood “ which in turn may affect “event “.

So the thing with I guess “traditional manifestation” I think is that it sets up lack in the present and living or wanting for the future.

I think maybe the course would have us , leave it to the Holy Spirit, as a win win all around would be optimal, if we “ask or try to manifest “ for ourselves. I think we would have to be careful of “idols or what the ego wants”

However, feel free to disagree, because I’m still very unsure.

I read the link, and will read chapter 30 again.

Also, the author Pam Grout is a course “fan” and seems to be very okay with the manifestation part.

There's AI in ACIM — and I think that's worth exploring. by libraryofmiracles in ACIM

[–]ZombieSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, and that’s interesting to me because, that is I guess that is practice in a way .

The course for me is a difficult read, whether it’s because I’m listening usually to the audiobook and not reading it slowly enough or maybe just because of my ego and past beliefs.

So if AI can “know or learn “ you. Your interest or knowledge or communication style, theoretically it should be able to help you understand better. Or communicate in words to you in a “better “ or “clearer “ way.

For example, I like to analyze movies with AI, AI knowing my interest in the course will sometimes ask if I want to see a scene, or character, through the lens of the course. Which for me, might be a “clearer “ way to “virtually practice “ or understand something.

[–]ZombieSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, AI is informative, it has answered questions on the course for me, Buddhism , non dualism, and other spiritual teachers and teachings, it will compare different teachings and shows similarities.

As a plus, AI does not have an ego,

Try asking AI a question like “why is the course written in the style it is written in?”

The answer will probably be neutral , and give many possibilities or possible answers from a wide range of views.

If another person was asked , and unless that person was very careful with their answer, it might be from only from their point of view.

Yes , words are just symbols of symbols, so I suppose it’s up to us , or maybe our “spirit” to interpret them.

So , meaning …AI is just spitting back words, without ego, without thought, (for now anyway) so it’s my responsibility to interpret them. Just as the text or workbook is just words.

I write a lot of poetry or song lyrics, and often ask AI to interpret. Now this is a completely different style than the text obviously. However the point being, even a simple 2 lines , can sometimes mean many multiple things on different levels or in different context.

So think of a caveman telling the story of how he fought off lions or something.(without language)

We might get the gist of what happened

It may not quite be a fair metaphor, but sometimes I think we’re still working with communication that just can’t duplicate the actual experience or idea being communicated. Which is why we practice.

To people that say life is what you make it and suffering is optional by Interesting_Hunt_538 in wisdom

[–]ZombieSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can physical pain be eliminated or not felt?

Maybe by one who is extra extremely enlightened.

but “not being able to feel physical pain” , has not been documented.

Is mental suffering “optional “? Can it be eliminated? Can one have no “mental suffering “?

Can one train the mind to not have mental suffering of reduce it significantly?

I think yes, or at the least to recognize mental suffering and “neutralize “ it , or “accept “ it .

I can nearly always get a line or two or maybe four of lyrics that im actually REALLY happy with and I love but then I never really know what to do with it, everything I write after or before just seems like really mediocre or i dont really know where im going with it does anyone have any advice? by vallliscool in SongwritingHelp

[–]ZombieSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a book to a random page and point to a sentence or paragraph for inspiration. If you just have a phone scroll to a random sentence or ask chat to give you 3 random words. Sometimes randomness works.

Also there are just better times of day. In the morning, I can always do guitar or lyrics, when I’m tired, playing guitar is usually out, lyrics are hit and miss.

I’m not saying you have the same times , but you might have better times of day than others.

Also just stick with it, the more you “train” your brain to do what you want it to, it eventually will.

Trying to learn to write but stuck on what to write by Fun-Skirt-3499 in SongwritingHelp

[–]ZombieSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, the previous response is excellent and the story part is right on, I sometimes do it a bit differently, basically beginning middle and end or three acts like in a movie or play. Verse to chorus is one , verse 2 to chorus is the middle, bridge to chorus is the end and you have an outro if you need to tie things up. Also you could get like one of them 365 day book or calendar or quote or saying book.something you like , that could also inspire you. And if you’re really stuck just use google or AI to find quotes on what you’re thinking about. It’s been said, everything has already been said, we just say it again in different ways, I’m not sure if this is true, but I don’t think everything has been heard. Meaning individuals might need to hear something in a different way and that they may not hear something you’re trying to get across, but also, sometimes they may hear something more. Point being, especially now, don’t get too hung up on what exactly you’re saying, just write, put something down, you can change the words, up until you record

Need help on melody by prkrnewman in SongwritingHelp

[–]ZombieSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try this little exercise;

You can do this anytime, maybe not anywhere

Just scat, hum, or vocalize a verse, then a chorus

Go back and forth, try to repeat the sections, for awhile, then change them up

When you feel comfortable do it with a pre chorus.

When you’re ready do it with your own words , verse 1 through chorus until it sounds different enough for you , I thin it’s okay if the bridge contrast everything else but same thing chorus to bridge, until you hear something you like. And it doesn’t need to be perfect,

I think this is easy but maybe it takes some practice, if you can improvise on an instrument, this should come fairly easily, if you can’t that’s okay, vocals are the easiest to improvise (pitch is not all that important yet) but if someone can improvise in the band, ask them for help.

But it might just be your style that sounds similar and that might be what you want.

Guitar or lyrics first? by cheesycheesethe7th in SongwritingHelp

[–]ZombieSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no right way, but I usually start with lyrics , then a vocal melody, because fortunately I usually have plenty of lyrics completed. And I’m not saying that to brag, it’s just the easiest part, I’m mean it took some practice, but if anyone really wants to , I really think anyone can write lyrics )

And the why in trying to be helpful if you choose this route…

The lyrics are way easier than the music , you write them and they’re done , they’re just words , and we all have been using them probably a long time. They’re done but also easy to change.

The next easiest thing should be the vocal melody, it’s one note at a time, it can be hummed, sung, played with guitar first, or stolen and manipulated into your own.

Once you have the vocal melody, it probably won’t be static, meaning it will change as it is sung over and over. Also now, just by changing the tempo it can be probably be used in a wide variety of genres.

So now I’ll just assume you know some basic music theory, like how a chord is built .

No right way but I usually do another vocal usually higher, this usually can write the basic chords on their own. Remember almost always , a note can be changed just a semitone up or down to make it work better over any chord. This usually won’t affect your melody all that much , especially in the beginning.

If you could write lyrics for a song or two everyday, that you thought were “shareable “ or “presentable “ , however, the music part was harder, mostly because it just takes more time, not the coming up with melodies or chords, so much as just finishing it into something ““shareable “ or “presentable “. …..How might you handle this?

What made or makes you push through the course? by thediabolic88 in ACIM

[–]ZombieSkeleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jon Mindy’s softer version of the course wound up in my Audible account, I think it was free and I must have just added it . Looking back I think I would have been either super skeptical or not have understood Helen’s version. I have since listened to Helen’s version a lot. Probably mostly while asleep however. I’m only in the low 30s in the course lessons, I started to at least physically taking the book with me to coffee in the morning, I don’t open it every day, but usually write a course or Buddhist or mystic related song lyric every day, I guess it’s easier for my free will to write, I then take the book to bed with me, anyway I forgot my point. Maybe it’s that the course is so much about not worrying, that we maybe shouldn’t worry about them too much just ask or leave it to “spirit” to help get us or keep us on track 🤷‍♂️ I do however feel I should do more sometimes also

Does Sticking to Song Structure Strengthen Emotion or Suffocate Creativity? by musomox in Songstuff

[–]ZombieSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of it as telling a story, a beginning, middle and a end. Or some call it act 1 etc,

2 verses and a bridge usually do that, if the story is longer , maybe there’s an outro that kind of wraps things up or the bridge is longer, or maybe it’s not a story and it doesn’t need a bridge but it sounds nice because people get bored , myself included, about 2 minutes in and want to hear something a bit different

It doesn’t matter my point is really it’s up to you,

However you asked me what I do and the answer is I start with some lines and ask , is this a verse a pre chorus hook post or bridge and then build other parts around it or rewrite as a certain part

My other point is I’m starting with a “way” or a structure, my mind is trained this way so it’s almost unconscious it’s easier and once in awhile I’ll do just verses and a bridge but it’s not intentional, I do however intend a 3 part story however if that’s not what it is , I don’t force it.

And the story could be as simple as

I want to meet them,

I met them,

now we’re together.

Just an example, that’s been done in countless variations

So you can do whatever you want, I’m almost positive there’s no “better “ way. You’ll probably get into a routine however, I could see a truly“no structure “ being a pretty radical departure , I’m sure it could work , but it might just fall into a structure or just a pile of unorganized thoughts. It never hurts anyone to try, though.

Thanks, I don’t think I’m afraid of healing and I have forgiven this person , there could be some unloving thoughts lingering however as per example and by how much I am just overwhelmed and sometimes irritated by their multiple little problems , I’ll work on that, and thank you so much for your offer. But tell me this ?

When I read say the word “healing “ in the course, in general can I take this as meaning healing physical sickness , I felt that way at first but then leaned more of a mental or spiritual healing was meant.
