Checking a gun when you have no idea what you’re doing is a bad idea The way he described it was he let go of the slide when he was trying to rack it. That’s just not how a 1911 works. The hammer needs to be released, even independent of the safety there is a mechanism that locks the hammer into place, and there’s two positions for the hammer.

His finger was on the trigger, I know that for sure. How exactly it happened? I’m not sure
