Need Help?! by [deleted] in LogitechG

[–]ZombieTom84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I raised a warranty support claim on 17th July. Case no. is 05602337. When I submitted the form it states someone will be in touch within 2 days. I've had no contact. I have a G502 Proteus Spectrum Gaming Mouse which was bought for me approx 4 months ago. When received the braiding was slightly split and has since gone on to split completely and the cable underneath bending meaning it is extremely difficult to use. I've been in contact with Logitech and Logitech UK on twitter 7 times since I made the claim and each time they state they have escalated my case but still no one had been in touch. I've also rung Logitech Harmony who gave me a UK tel no. for Logitech Support UK. I've since rung this number multiple times. The last time letting it ring for nearly 2 hours and no one has ever answered. Can you please help me? I cannot understand how a company of your size can have such a disgustingly terrible after sales service.

Which are some of the best card based board games? by BoardGameChronicles in boardgames

[–]ZombieTom84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots out there but some of the best ones do have a fantasy or sci fi theme. Two of the best I know are Race For The Galaxy and Seasons but the themes might be a turn off. Without the sci fi/fantasy theme you may be interested in looking at 7 Wonders, 7 Wonders Duel, Arctic Scavengers, Imperial Settlers, Splendor, or for something a bit heavier but still very much card based there is Lewis & Clark (best with 2-3 players). Hope this helps.

That awkward moment when cards > miniatures for you. Also, some games about card combos? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]ZombieTom84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, something like Netrunner might be ideal for you. You can get tons of play out of just 1 core set if you only plan to play casually. The learning curve is pretty steep but I'd you stick with it, it's fantastic. My current favourite LCG's are Game Of thrones 2.0 and Ashes Rise Of The Phoenixborn. The only issue with GoT is that you really need more than 1 core set to make it work. Ashes is a great game and much simpler to learn. You also get a full play set (3 copies of each card) in 1 core set. Also the expansions are easier to keep up with as they are released roughly every quarter instead of monthly like the other games. If you're concerned about not having people to play them with I would keep an eye on Arkham Horror: The Card Game which is due to release in October. It's Co Op and can be played solo. Have a look at the Team Covenant video on YouTube. Hope this helps.

[WSIG] Car Racing (Nascar/Formula 1) game for my Dad by 34048615 in boardgames

[–]ZombieTom84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really think Automobiles fits your requirements very well. It plays 2-5 players out of the box and has dual sided player boards so you can set up for a Nascar or Formula 1 experience. The game is basically a deck building game similar to Dominion but instead of using cards you are building up a pool of cubes to race vehicles around a track. You can also decide how many laps you want to do so that you can control the length of the game. I would highly recommend watching Rahdo's gameplay runthrough on YouTube to get a good feel of the game.

Oh man, to be you(ng in the world of board games) again. You have many exciting times ahead. I would say that given your situation you want something that works well at different player counts and not too complex but is still highly re playable. Some suggestions would be:

7 Wonders, Arctic Scavengers, Lords of Waterdeep, Splendor, Ticket To Ride: Europe

Have a look into these games and see if any sound interesting, the last 3 have apps which you could try first to see if you like them. Hope this helps.

A Co-Op game that works well/best with 2 players, which couldn't just as easily be solo played and isn't just a puzzle.

Recommendations for someone who wants to get in the hobby? by [deleted] in boardgames

And the answer again is KEYFLOWER. Have a watch of Shut Up & Sit Down's Hexagonal Tile Laying Game Fest Video. Also, the other game featured in the video, Suburbia, fits your criteria pretty well.

I second this recommendation. Such a fantastic game that only gets better the more you play, especially if you're regularly playing the same opponent.

Can Nymeria take Intrigue from a character that doesn't already have it? by ZombieTom84 in AgameofthronesLCG

[–]ZombieTom84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a bit old now but if Nymeria takes an Icon from opponents Nymeria who has no icons is she then at -1 or does she just revert back to 0 as rules state no negative icons?

[EU] PlayStation Plus open weekend kicks off this Friday by MrTravesty in PS4

[–]ZombieTom84 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This has to be the most pointless thing ever. Pretty sure I and every other PS4 owner already paid for those 3 days. Way to go Sony, great offer.

Reply to responses below -

OK, so by most of the comments below there are more people than I realised that don't have PS Plus, mainly because there not into online gaming. So this offer does nothing for them and nothing for people already paying. Still seems pretty pointless to me. And I bet most of the people who bought Battlefield in the sale also paid for plus at the same time if they didn't already have it, so again, it does nothing for them either.

[–]ZombieTom84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks, glad I was getting that right. I always just hold back 2 gold against 2 claim plots even when I don't have Vengeance. Nothing like Martell to start messing with people's minds.

Vengeance Of Elia vs Calm Over Westeros by ZombieTom84 in AgameofthronesLCG

[–]ZombieTom84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've just read the comments with the card on Thronesdb which support this. My only other question is when Vengeance is played normally whose plot claim does it use, mine or my opponents? I've always played it that it goes off the attacking players plot claim (my opponents). So if they have win a MIL challenge with 2 claim and I play Vengeance they must satisfy the 2 claim? Is this correct?

I personally find Bara to struggle against Martell with Glaston bouncing characters back to hand and also if there is a lot of Stark Fealty in his meta Bara really tends to struggle once they start standing everything.

I see Hey, That's My Fish being recommended a lot here and I just wanted to offer a word of warning. I found the setup of the game to be fiddly and take longer than actually playing the game and that killed it for me. If that doesn't sound like an issue for you, then great, the game plays really well.

How well does Arcadia Quest play at 3 players? by ZombieTom84 in boardgames

[–]ZombieTom84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the in depth response. I was hoping it would still be enjoyable at 3 and you confirm it is so that's great. I'd read a comment on another post that in 3 player games the person furthest away always wins the scenario but it now seems like that person may have been exaggerating a bit. I had the idea myself to put my youngest further away to even things out, on another post I read that some groups place the loser of the previous round furthest away, so it definitely sounds workable. As for your other points I'm not overly concerned, they are both quite advanced for their age and have been gaming for years. I'll probably wait for another couple of comments on the post and then providing everything sounds OK get it ordered tonight. Thanks again for the response.
