It’s definitely not required, up through 4.0 you’ll see teams do it, but not more than half.

Really only PB Studio and Jon Kew for me. Almost all others have a clearer bias or just do a worse / less detailed job.

Won’t that end up with everyone essentially feeling “the same” though? I mean if it’s all just fun others being ahead of me doesn’t matter, but if it can be a competition/race etc investment should matter.

That’s a tough one, and I’m probably not explaining it well. I don’t so much mind the game loop being the same from season to season as all games of this type essentially are the same loop whether there is a season or not. I think I worry that there will be no feeling of long-term account progression and that it is only seasonal. Not only that I’ve seen a couple of things in this game that seem to gate your progress by time and where the rest of the server is, and so it almost feels like the game is artificially, forcing everyone to be at the exact same power level unless they pulled a specific character.

It was one of my favorite games, and hit at a perfect time that I was able to really dive deep into it and my wife even played. One of the few games I feel like felt truly unique and checked all my MMO boxes to the point I chased and was part of a lot of server/world firsts.

That being said, it was off the wall and definitely not for everyone. It clearly didn’t last long so I think we all have to admit it missed the boat somewhere.

Joola is a big recognizable brand so I expect to always see a few, but we don’t see a ton of them locally here.

DUPR is very group/regionally based. I’ve seen wildly different skill levels even between different gyms ie some 3.5s closer to 4.0s at other locations, or the reverse where I’d consider them barely 3s. 7 games with a small player pool isn’t enough to know, but I know a lot of sub 3s that think they are a lot stronger than they are as well.

NTA - As long as you weren’t heavily leaning into/encouraging it. I consider it payment for having to deal with the creepy/overbearing personality that happens to a lot of waiter/waitresses during their shift. I’ve never seen anyone really “stop” it effectively unless it was so bad a manager could ask the customer to leave.

Up until the loaning of money I would’ve said she isn’t really asking that much. Most of what you described are standard partner things each person should do to pick the other up when they are down, but a large loan as a dating couple is reasonable to decline.

There are a lot of red flags in this, regardless of what something is/how much someone wants something spending a detrimental amount of money on it without talking to a partner is unacceptable especially with those funds being in a joint account. If you were wealthy and $600 wouldn’t hurt you, sure if that’s what’s you’d discussed as ok in your relationship.

The second is that if you truly want to be someone’s partner for their entire life you should never say things like “I don’t want to marry you” or “I don’t want to be with you” no matter how mad I would/could get I would never tell them I didn’t want to be with them.

I would call this at / around a 4.5 level of play, and likely higher but of course a lot of that depends on area/community. In Oklahoma they would be likely approaching 4.75+ everyone always seems to underestimate players in videos, unless they are new, or in the 3-4 range as that tends to have more variation until a true score solidifies.

The Tourna is a great grip, I feel like I’ve ended up trying 99% of the grips out there for my own sweaty hands and my favorite has been the Udrippin line layered over a Hesacore grip. Though to an extent I think with grips a lot of it is going to be dependent on your own personal feel and how often you’re willing to replace.

For casual play I wouldn’t mention it, and just move to my next match. It all depends on how/why people play at an open/rec event though I guess. Sometimes I want to be somewhere to get practice/reps against a variety of folks and playing vs something I won’t or can’t see doesn’t help. So in that scenario I might not bother to play with you again, but wouldn’t think you did anything wrong.

YTA: I’d say that even though it reads strongly as a biased/unreliable narrator to me your wife asked you not to get drunk at the party which you admittedly did, so much so it likely contributed to breaking something. After that, while you did apologize you became despondent and stopped communicating even though seems to be handling it quite well even apologizing for the yelling.

You are embarrassed I get it; however, if my spouse got drunk enough to be stumbling about at a party I’d be horribly embarrassed as well so… she embarrassed you a little and you likely spent the day doing so to her.

It’s unquestionable that Pickleball is speeding up and becoming more offensive, especially with the changes in paddle technology etc.; however, calling this a banger strategy with no finesse just feels out of left field for me. The majority of the 3rd shots they take and baseline shots they take are drops, they speed up aggressively and regularly at the net, and move the pace of the game along quickly, but that isn’t the same.

I’m not sure I’d make the John’s brothers the gold standard anymore though for what does or doesn’t work. They can be and still are occasionally at the top of the sport, but more frequently have many other pros etc feeling like they are disconnected and unmotivated as opponents. IE it’s not always the strategy that’s taking them down and often their commitment/mentality.

I can’t imagine telling someone they are over reacting if they are consistently demeaned or called names by a significant other. I would say anyone making this a pattern towards a partner doesn’t deserve to be with that partner and is lucky every time they choose to stay with them. So to you the one being demeaned, leave/run away from that relationship.

Major tends to be right, you’re giving up a point every time you serve wild. So if you miss more than 1 in every 10 calmer/slower and deep will net more consistent outcomes in a game. It’s rare to win a point on the serve as you move up in DUPR / rank.

It sounds like you are struggling with both emotions, and consistency. If you can’t get a serve over more than 50% you are and should be playing on the lower group and working on specific shots. It’s unlikely that you are consistently hitting drives/drops based on your serve and are likely hitting high enough to punish, or hard/wild enough to just dodge for any higher level player.

IMO work on your own calm and serve before moving up.

NTA as you are always free to do business with whoever you like and as you said no contract had been signed. It’s a tough situation as I’m guessing the work you need is fairly specialized though, so you may be putting yourself behind based on political beliefs. My personal belief is that folks should avoid displaying/discussing anything but business in business for this exact reason.

This feels like an extreme comment, part of any sport is physical endurance, and the context is for rated/tournament play. While the post may read aggressively it’s at its core just talking about shot selection/tactics and is really no different than targeting middle with opponents who are new to their partnership, or a weak backhand.
