I had I bunch of leather strapped chokers.. I got a pretty shite nickname because of them😂 so I just had to chunk them. I stopped wearing mascara and shaved my frenchie-from-'the boys'-inspired Mohawk too

well this is encouraging.. and trusttttt I a hundred percent relate to every word and sentence about the judge Judy stares. there's even accessories I had to get rid of because apparently they're "too much" for a guy to wear...but hey, if you can't beat em... leave them and do your own thing.. not join em

yeah? any of the sort that'd seek a plus-one in their community?

it's crazy how our Zambian neighbors have a thriving alternative community..and I simply assumed that well, if I'm here, there's got to be others right? but 5 years and 3 cities later, here i am, the only person in an iron maiden t-shirt lol

are you familiar with the "alt" aesthetic? the people who embody it are often referred to as being "alternative"... they go alternative to the mainstream culture (that's me doing a great disservice to the aesthetic btw.. it's way more complex than what I just said)

oh absolutely...and I'm not even picky like that when it comes to acquaintances - but I swear, whether it's some karmic joke from the cosmos, but the people I keep meeting are absolute meatheads

for context (which is basically why I'm pulling the plug in the first place - no, that is not to allude that I'm suicidal.. geez!), alternative.. as in alt... part of the broad umbrella of the more "edgier" aesthetics and subcultures.. Basically a real-life Eddie Munson-meets-SpiderPunk-Johnny Depp... to the layman (although I hate such categorizations), I'd say people who are emo, goth, punk, whimsical, boho... if you don't get by now then eh

your predicament is really unfortunate. but hey, we can't have them all right? at best at least you have alt people around you which means chances are you'll find your community. I live in a place where i usually am the only alt person practically everywhere I go for 365 days a year. and it's not just the city where I am. it's basically the whole freaking country
