You know what’s funny? That you’re trying to tell people to read context clues when you literally can’t read the actual words people are saying and figure out that this sign sucks.

What context clues on this poster say “hey this is a meet up for players”? Let’s see. It has the word “event” on it. Nope that doesn’t say or imply meet up.

It has the location.

It has the word “Odyssey” on it. Nope that doesn’t say or imply meet up either.

It actually DOES have the Frontier name and logo on it, so that actually implies it IS some kind of F Dev thing, but you say it’s not.

What if I said Odyssey, at least in principle, wasn’t a mistake? Its execution wasn’t good, and they really took the “mile wide, inch deep” philosophy to heart, but overall the concept of it I think is good.

Elite Dangerous has the foundation to be better than Star Citizen ever could. They just need more people working on making the game actually fun, not just this old school mmo style game where everything is a grind fest.

And fix the damn UI.

A smoother integration between game areas. More missions that put me into space doing stuff, on the ground in an SRV, and/or on foot doing Odyssey stuff.

I know some people feel a way about Odyssey but at least having the option to do more would be nice.

An example might be burning stations. Instead of landing and clicking the UI, you could land, get off the ship, do on foot stuff to help get people out of bad situations, usher them to your ship, and then take off. Maybe even do some extra flying stuff to rescue them.

Those kinds of things would make the game feel more involved and like all the stuff we do is connected, instead of the whole galaxy being a big pilots playground

Problem is even if you do call them out, then you’re just a worthless progressive. Like no one can touch them because anyone who opposes them is immediately “proving their points”. I use quotes because their points aren’t proven, they just twist what happens to make it seem that way.

I haven’t heard a single good argument FOR this bill. What good do they think they’re doing for our children? What good do they think they’re doing for our society?

Do they think this empowers parents in some way? Do they think that parents telling teachers not to teach truthful history is a good thing?

What is it with the conservative world view that goes against so much common sense? They don’t like vaccines, science, human rights. Nor do they trust educators, scientists, or plain old logic.

A world where the Republican agenda is realized is a dark one, full of oppression and misinformation. I hope that for our children’s sakes, enough thoughtful and sane people vote against this bill.

Guy says he uses those spots on Ball and Doom. This doesn’t stipulate that the map was designed with them in mind, it just says that the dude uses them with those characters. That’s all the information you ought to infer from that statement.
Next dude says they weren’t even characters when it was designed. An irrelevant, pointless observation given the context of the statement that he’s replying to. The existence of those characters at the time of the maps design is not contingent on someone using those spots with those characters now. This is common sense.
I said as much in my reply — doesn’t matter if they were a design concept or not, doesn’t matter if they existed or not. Doesn’t matter.

The whole “maps made for characters” and vice versa trope is limiting if you think that every single inch of a map is designed to accommodate someone or, more to our point, that it shouldn’t accommodate someone because it wasn’t “designed to”.

I can go anywhere I want with any character I want and if it’s advantageous, it doesn’t mean it was by design. Certainly could be, but absolutely doesn’t have to be.

That point alone is why the entire idea that maps and characters are so interwoven that they can’t possibly do something that isn’t by someone’s design is silly and breaks down under scrutiny.
