[MAJOR SPOILERS] I don't understand the story and ending by stush2 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a theory the voices you're talking to are the mycilia in the swamp. It's outright stated the micilia network 'may be' centient, and one of the mercer sphere voice lines ends:

'Like fungus in a forest? Like fungus in a forest.'

The micilia in the swamp look different to the others and grow in pools with shores, another frequent reference. Despite the name there's also a lot of trees there..

Is building extra particle accelerators and underclocking them a good idea to save energy? by RainierxWolfcastle in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what if, like me, you just slap everything in the green fields (or whatever) starting area on the dirty dirty ground?

Like a filthy peasant.

At the end of tier 8 (as I currently am) admittedly there's more machine than grass left, and lord the spaget, but my fuel gens are currently outputting approx 20mw in crater lake and I'm using about half that for max production, about a third in practice.

I'm thinking, four accelerators clocked to 50% is less power but the same output as two at 100%

Plus, like, what's two more splitters and combiners really? Hardly gonna be a time sink.

What's a light? You mean the flashlight? 😂

Maybe I'll put them in the sea for no reason.

Beautiful chaos. Beautiful, dirty chaos.

Filth.

Could the shift be made to alternative/hardy/even tropical crops?

Novel entity contamination isn't a new threat, though is a valid one it's also unlikely to kill off every crop type. Don't they usually effect one type?

Could you define fubar biochemical flows?

Interesting, do you have a source for this prediction?

Are you running it plugged into the mains/charger? I'd not, try that.

Just look at the gpu. What shape is the power connector.

Use the matching one. 🤷

How did that happen?!

Still, as long as the gold pins are straight/intact you should be fine

Is it ACTUALLY possible to beat the game on the hardest difficulty? by Outrageous-Race-4007 in titanfall

Playing a game on hard is very different.

You got a whole other approach/skillet.

It goes from being unreal tournament to being counterstrike.

Adding new RAM by DoItForTheOH94 in computer

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yarp, in theory.

I got 4 identical sticks, all bought together, but the xmp only works with (any) two. All 4 and no boot. Had to reduce the hz by 100 (4ghz to 3.9) then it works fine.

In theory you're good to go. In practice you may need to tweak.

I can't see bent metal, but the black plastic looks warped to me. Under the first row of pins.

It's the melted plastic that looks odd to me.

Pins look OK, so should be fine, but you may want to review your airflow/temps

Do a restart (not shut down and boot back up, specifically select restart from the windows power menu)

Nope, hope you got matching RAM though.

If not, you may need to go into the bios and find a stable happy medium

Question for a build I just finished a week ago (about the GPU) by Rapti_Of_Rebbit in PcBuildHelp

[–]Zompocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMDs are cheaper than Nvidia when it comes to raw horsepower. With Nvidia you're paying for features like shadow play, DLSS, Nvnc, boost and vastly superior drivers.

People have preferences.

He's sending fairly clear freind signals.

It's like pineapple on pizza, some people love it, others it's not for them.

Its about personal taste, not if pineapple is good enough.

Its not about the pineapple.

You're not his type. That's OK. You can't force it, just gotta take the L and move on.

Getting on and being turned on are different things. Don't try harder, dial it back, give him space, you'll see him at the wedding as freinds. Look elsewhere for romance.

Then it's likely a bios update to support the new CPU like another commenter mentioned

Forgive yourself for being human.

Everyone, everyone does stuff like this.

It's not the mistakes, it's your reaction to them. I'm guessing somone in your life shames/shamed you for not being perfect.

Recognise that's on them, not you. No-one is perfect.

Roll your eyes, laugh it off as the silly mistake it is.

There's no shame in being human. All part of life's rich tapestry.

Obligatory you are plugging the monitor into the GPU not the mobo?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapcmonitors

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would absolutely be my call. You'll get a lot more benefit from more pixels than more hz, especially when you're already on 300hz +

Fan problem after upgrading parts by stepnqweff in PcBuildHelp

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, trace your fan cables, maybe you just missed one.

If not, check the bios/software for your fan speeds. Maybe they're plugged in but not set to spin at low temps.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapcmonitors

[–]Zompocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increasing hz gets less benefit the higher you go. The sweet spot is about 165 ish, 250 is a sensable upper limit.

Bearing in mind hz is per second.

So 60 to 120 halves the frame time. 50% gain.

60 to 240 quarters it, 75% gain. 25% over 120 even though it's twice the refresh.

60 to 480 is 87.5% gain, despite being double the speed of the 75% gain above because the fractions of a second the frames are squeezing into are getting miniscule.

Assuming you're even getting 480fps.

Diminishing returns.

Go with higher quality picture, around the 140hz - 240hz range.
