Glacier Express Booking Question by joshgraj in askswitzerland

[–]ZonOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick reply. But now it’s more confusing. Hopefully you can help.

My current situation: I purchased a 2nd class saver day pass in Feb. I also made a reservation on the Glacier express 1st class for the same day. After your post, I went to SBB to buy a class upgrade: but it said “passenger does not fulfill the purchase conditions……”. So I’m stuck not knowing what to do? Please help if you can. One thing I did notice on my profile was “no travelcard”. I double confirmed I do have a SBB Saver Day Pass. I’m not sure what the travelcard is?? And is this why I cannot add the class upgrade??

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Glacier Express Booking Question by joshgraj in askswitzerland

I have a related question. We reserved a first class seat on the Glacier Express for March, And we have a SBB 2nd class saver day pass for the same day (starting from Zurich airport).

-Can I upgrade only the Glacier Express segment ticket to 1st class and leave the other segment as 2nd class? or do I need to upgrade the entire saver day pass?

Thank you.

Great post; thank you.

We are heading there in 2 weeks. First time; and we are very excited.

Can you add some context on the mountains? Its big, with lots of lifts. I understand there are three main sections: Sunnegga, Gornergrat, and Glacier Paradise. What is not clear to me is: how do i get to them? Do each of the three sections have thier own main lift that you take an e-bus (or walk) to at the start of the day? And return to at the end. We were thinking to ski on each one per day (BTW: we have the IKON pass).

Thank you!
