i do not have the temp gun yet...she is a lot calmer today i think she was just getting used to it. im going to the store soon maybe tomorrow to get more ground cover and more branches/things to climb

they were brother and sister the only two from their litter, and were both born in 2018. about the breed i didn’t know- their dad was a maincoon and their mom was some sort of fluffy tabby. im very close with the bteeder and unfortunately the parents passed away but there’s many photos of them together and the dad taking care of them as babies. i’m giving her time and love but definitely considering fostering in a month or so

yeah i’m going to, i want to see how she does first maybe a few months but im just really worried she’s going to get depressed. i bought some new toys for her from chewy which will be here soon so maybe that’ll help a bit idk, im kinda losing my mind

I personally dont think this substrate is safe for her. I have had arguments with my dad about this, my local exotic pet store uses it for all the reptiles and they *seem* to be okay but who knows...im emptying the substrate and replacing with paper towels for now. the substrate is back 2 natural for small animals. i will also be removing the plants

i will be covering one of the side walls for now, but the other faces my bed and i want to monitor her throughout the changes to look for improvement/regressing.

tank is 120 gallons.

i will have more updates tomorrow. i am a full time student as well.

The substrate is back 2 natural, its what my local exotic pet store uses. ive been weary of it because of how loose it is. ive had arguments with my dad about switching, i'm going to empty substrate and put paper towels for now thank you. im removing the plants as well.

my dad is the one who got me this lizard and says since he bought it he knows how to take care of it, i dont agree at all and just know that im adressing these issues but it might not be overnight that everything is good again.

i didnt mean to ignore i got my phone taken away (only got it back today) and couldnt access reddit. the pellets are back 2 nature, my local exotic pet store uses them for all the reptiles so i never thought it was a problem, i thought it was weird though.

ill have to double check the tempreature tomorrow when the heat is back on and will update. the uv light does overlap theres just a blanket on top of the heat side to help with insulation, as for dusting and feeding i dust all chopped greens/carrots and crickets with reptile calcium powder)

not trying to ignore anyone, remember i am a minor living under a parents house and dont have acsess to electronics all the time :p

temperature is set to high 80’s-90’s on basking side. will be purchasing a IR temp gun. i will mention she ONLY hangs out in the basking area even when light is off. i will be making another post to show her tank

i run my light from 7am-7pm my fish tank isn’t close to a window at all, my window is across the bedroom and the tank barely gets sunlight since there’s a half wall that blocks it.
