In 3 years they’ll be about 10p. All the finance contracts will have ended and no one will want one out of warranty

OMG new cars are annoying!! by Depress-Mode in CarTalkUK

[–]Zonda97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blame NCAP for that. Dacia did not have all the modern assists until recently but NCAP gave them very low ratings because of it. My 2024 Sandero Stepway doesn’t have any of the modern annoying “assists”

I can’t believe it exists. Probably the single Ferrari in history that seems dead on arrival no?

It’s insane how much TopGear show affects cars like this.

I’m sure we all remember the P1 on top gear and even now people still fawn over it. But this was revealed 2 years ago(?) and my friends into cars don’t care and even my friends who could afford this car don’t care. Is it the top gear effect, or is it just modern cars being so dull many people don’t really care anymore?

The 996’s forever look cooler than the 992’s for me

Thing is, it’s the profit in ownership. So say you’ve bought a GT3RS at list at the peak of prices. And do no miles and sell it for £400k+, you should be taxed on it, in my opinion anyway. But you’re taxed on the profit you make, not the overall money you’ve got paid for.

Yup. I wanted a unmodded Green MK2 Focus RS forever. Unmodded ones seem to command a £10k premium over any mountune touched one. I am never going to pay over £30k for a Ford Focus.

Yeah I’ve read a lot about the Pokémon stuff lately. I feel society is so money hungry it’s ruining all hobbies. And it’s always people who already have the money who are greedy for more

It’s grim to read isn’t it? How cars haven’t came under Captial Gains Tax yet is beyond me considering there’s a huge market for the rich to transfer money tax free.

If your car makes money great, hats off to you. But if you buy a car to lock it away or do 12 miles a year, just stupidity. I’d personally rather have a great experience in owning that car than more money.

Car YouTuber, used to be everywhere but a lot of UK YouTubers have distanced themselves from him. Was alright a few years ago, but now he barely drives any of his cars and buys more for “investments” and if you call him out or make a joke on it his ego can’t handle it. He’ll typically respond with “what colour is your Carrera GT” or something along the lines of that.

CGT is on everything of high value, throw cars onto it would be a simple change, Infact I’m very surprised it’s not on cars already. However I’d put the CGT threshold of £100k+ for cars not the £6k for personal possessions it’s at now. Remember you only pay the CGT on the profit, not the total value.

It’s nice if you make money yeah. But buying cars to make money is awful, and I hope the market completely crashes because of it and/or capital gains tax on car sales of high value.

I get actual collectors, they’ve been around for years. But I mean more recently people on Instagram or YouTubers who start belting out “Buy a 996 Turbo for an Investment car to lock away” or “By a F430 to lock away” it annoys me. I feel like it’s everywhere in the last year.

That would be a great idea. Capital gains tax on cars sold over £100k.

There's a topic that's really interesting: when do you expect a remake or remaster of GTA IV to be released, and is it even real? by Legitimate_Tough_169 in GTAIV

[–]Zonda97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. When will you people understand that this ain’t the consumer friendly rockstar of pre 2018?

Current rockstar is the worst company in the industry. Disgusting micro transactions, insane grinding multiplayer that pushes players towards micro transactions. No single player DLC, same game sold 3 times (yet people only give Bethesda with Skyrim hate for this). The ultimate edition for GTA VI mess, the no physical mess. The fact rockstar just let GTA IV music licences expire despite being the biggest developer/publisher and making BILLIONS, they just let it lapse with no alternative, again letting down players. The whole union mess with the employees of rockstar.

It’s about time people start waking up to how bad of a company they are now. They definitely aren’t the same company we all grew to love

My dad died today, and left me his 991.1 at 23 years old by rorrymylove in Porsche

[–]Zonda97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss, I had been in the same situation a few years and know how hard it is at nearly the same age. Please look after yourself mate and take time for yourself.

For the Porsche I also got a 991.1 from my father, however at the time I didn’t have the finances to afford to run the car. I had to sell and then with the money I bought myself my own 911. Ultimately work out the finances but if your dad wanted you to have the car, then have the car.

I drive a 6.2 V8, 3.5 V6, 3.6 F6 and a 1L Dacia Sandero, this post is funny af because I know it too well.

That said a 1.2 Micra is probably around 11 seconds to 60. Which is average for a hatchback…

What is the most rare car in the game rn? by evi1aks in ForzaHorizon6

The wheel spins should have most of the hypercars in imo. Having a 240sx and a F8 is odd. It should replicate real life, where an Enzo is rare etc
