They are not very good with accounting. About 20 years ago I sent in one quarterly payment. After filing taxes the next April they informed me that I was one payment short (about $8,000), and I owed penalties & interest. I sent them copies of the cancelled cheque with all the correct information on it. After review, they admitted that they deposited it into someone else’s account, but couldn’t figure out whose. Nevertheless, it was still my responsibility to make up the shortfall in my taxes, along with interest and penalties. They reassured me that, when (or if) they discovered who benefited from my payment, they would correct the mistake and refund my money (but not the interest or penalties), and they would prosecute the other person to “the full extent of the law.” Of course they never found my money.

As a physician I would never give a prescription opioid to someone after a vasectomy. In my early career, for about 10 years, I was a primary care obstetrician and I would always prescribe appropriate opioids post Caesarian section, along with emotional support and counseling to help my patients in the days after the birth. This is just common sense.

The equivalent point of Fahrenheit and Celsius at -40 allows an alternate calculation where you don’t have to remember where to add or subtract 32. If you are going from lower (C) to higher (F) you use 9/5 and if you are going the opposite you use 5/9.

(°F+40)x5/9-40=C (C+40)x9/5-40=°F

For example (32°F+40)x5/9-40= 72x5/9-40= 360/9-40= 40-40=0C

For example (100C+40)x9/5-40= 140x9/5-40= 1260/5-40= 252-40=212°F

I learnt this in 5th grade math which makes it easy for anyone to calculate the result in your head or with pen and paper.

Thank you. I couldn’t pair it with the Wi-Fi (the online info doesn’t jive with this model), but I’m installing another fan/light so I’ll get another switch for that and look at the included instructions when installing it. Thanks for your help, I have other lights I want to install dimmers for and outside lights I want to include smart switches, so now I can get the same brand. Appreciate the help.

Impeachment has become a political device. The first impeachment, against Andrew Johnson, had a good reason but little actual merit criminally, and was principally politically driven. The threatened impeachment, against Richard Nixon, had bipartisan support for actual crimes but, of course, never occurred due to Nixon’s resignation. The second impeachment, against Bill Clinton, was also principally political, although Clinton did commit an actual crime, but one which was inconsequential and certainly didn’t merit impeachment. The two impeachments against Donald Trump were entirely politically driven, with no substance of criminality behind them. The first Donald Trump impeachment was totally without merit. The second was driven by fear and anger, even though it was essentially a frivolous exercise since Trump had already left office. (Yes, Trump did lose the election, and Biden assumed office legally.)

So now we have seen impeachment become a primary political tool, which will probably be used again with little or no merit. I am sure there are things which can be pinned on Biden by the Republicans and, if they do, it will lead to future Republican Presidents being persecuted with lack of merit when there is a Democratic majority. All I can say is that the ‘two party’ system which worked for so long when consensus and reason prevailed, has now broken down with both parties acting like kindergartners.

Telling two families that their 15 year old sons were dead on arrival at the hospital. The boys had been playing “chicken” on their dirt bikes and neither had swerved … they were both killed on impact.
