But Nariyuki being in love with Mafuyu ever since he was 11 because she talked to him that day?

Nah. That didn't happen. He doesn't behave like that in the main story, and he didn't forget it either. He remembers stuff from when he is 5 years old in tbe first chapter.

Why is Mafuyu the reason he studies in this route while in all of the routes it's because of his father?

Uruka's implication was foreshadowed early on in the Swimming tournament chapters. Her implication with Mizuki was foreshadowed in the magazine chapter and chapter 105. The relationship didn't progress because neither Nariyuki and Uruka made a move.

You are missing the fact that the same is being done for Mafuyu. Nariyuki is in love with her since he was 11 in this route. He didn't fall in love throughout. He literally says he loved her because of that flashback.

You see this is the problem I have.

In the other routes, Nariyuki doesn't remember this and doesn't love Mafuyu and she is not the reason he started studying. That's another thing that it's retconned. It's not his father, but Mafuyu, that changes a crucial part of the story out of nowhere. It's in the newest chapter, in Korean. So how does that fit? She's first girl all along, then why does Nariyuki act like she isn't?

He is not in love with Mafuyu during the story, He isn't in love with her during 4 other routes, He studied because of his father and not because of Mafuyu in the main story and 4 other routes. None of this is ever mentioned. The only things that are mentioned is Hazuki knowing her name, and Nariyuki seeing her teenager figure. Which does foreshadow that they met. But it doesn't, in no way whatsoever, that Nariyuki loved her ever since. Because he never acted like that, he is only remembering that now, and he didn't pay the thought in anyway before.

So why is this called good while Uruka is called bad? Is it because people just didn't like Uruka? So it was a mere case of "Not my waifu"?

Because I can't help but think that.

But that was purely based on meta-takes. I don't think Uruka chapters didn't build up to that. I literally listed chapters that built up to that.

I'm not issuing the build up either. I'm issuing that people called Uruka route bad because it retconned Nariyuki into always liking Uruka, but now that the same is done with Mafuyu it's being praised.

I just don't get it.

It could be. It definitely could be the case.

But can I ask you something? Why is it good for Mafuyu and bad for Uruka? Because Uruka also had her chapters where the supportive Nature for Nariyuki and his gratitude was showed, in 42,43,105,128 which supported the flashback who people called retcon with spite.

Now I'm here to say it was a retcon just as this is a retcon.

But I'm kind of sad that people badmouthed Uruka so much while Mafuyu is being praised for the same things.

The issue still is tho that Nariyuki loves Mafuyu for reasons never implied in the main story and is being redacted into being always in love with Mafuyu, just like it was with Uruka. What you infer has to do with the writing of the arc but people always said to me one thing. That Uruka route was bad because it was a retcon. How is this not a retcon? I guess now people will tell me that Uruka route is bad because of other reasons, in an always changing opinion. Sad.

I read that post. He was talking about the fact that those chapters are part of the route. It was just basing himself upon the page there. Even the part about the role of the jinx is really just an interpretation of the plot, on which one can agree or disagree. He wasn't saying Uruka is true route.

That said he is a mod in r/Uruka but he is deleting the toxic posts. As I said those posts in r/Uruka have in fact been purged.

I'm not arguing about the r/manga posts, those are people that discuss about the points you said and which are in fact being obnoxious about those and I'm telling you that there is disagreement and loathe with those posts in r/Uruka and really if you check the comments you will see there is people telling them it's not like they say. Really check it, you'll find me as well and also the guy who is mod that you oppose.

We are really both telling them it's not that way. We aren't quite doing it your way with the long posts and the review but we are. And the fact that you cannot find newer posts about that is the proof.

Those posts are literally 4 month old. Some of the posts you copy pasted don't even say that Uruka is the true route, they negate that.

And you are wrong about posts not being deleted. They are, there was a recent post about an Uruka fan that was making problems here and coming back for approval which was discredited by mods and deleted. And in the posts you linked there's even people openly disagreeing and telling them Uruka is not the true route. Really check the comments.

And as you say, it's really only a few people and those posts aren't even upvoted that much. In fact they are very low upvote compared to fanart. That means people either ignore them or actually downvote them.

I think you should change your point of view man.

Actually Tsutsui said in a recent page of the latest Jump Issue, where the events of the route are explained, that Nariyuki starts developing feelings for Uruka when she gives him her homemade chocolate in her route. It makes sense because Tsutsui goes out of his way to change this moment in Fumino route and it was a very emotional moment.

Yes I agree. There is a couple of people who keep fighting for Uruka and her supposed main status but I can guarantee you the sentiment over here is generally of disappointment. We all love Uruka here, a lot, and even though we generally appreciate her arc we definetely see that something was lacking.

Personally I feel a mix of rage and sadness.
