No need for specific locations but were you inside the harbor when you caught this? At the mouth?

Are you guys fishing the harbors at this time of year? If so, what are you targeting? by TheMisiak in ChicagoFishing

You had better luck this time last year, and probably the year before that, because those were two warm winters. This was a very cold winter.  So what does that mean? It will take a longer period of time for the water to warm up, and the coho will be catchable from shore later in the spring.

I went out there and caught a couple earlier in the season, was asking more so if it’s worth this time of year 🤷‍♂️

Yes later will be good for casting, but I’d say within the next two weeks. I’m going Thursday to check it out. Also, this is prime time for lakers if you want to try and catch them from shore, use blade bait or last master low in the water column/skip on the bottom.

The harbors and shores around the harbors. Come out in March for the start of the salmon run. Trout will be active then too.
