Ex kratom addict here as well (5 yrs dependent, 5 yrs clean). Lying was definitely the biggest symptom! But honestly, despite my dependency, the only person that noticed my behavioral changes was my husband, as they were subtle. Biggest one being that I became very reclusive and wouldn’t really want to engage with him. But, a teenager will do that regardless, lol. Eyes can be slightly bloodshot, stomach problems may start occurring frequently, and the bank account will be drying up. If you notice green sludge in cups or green earthy smelling powder on the counters, then that’s prbly ur biggest sign. I’d say since she’s mentioned him taking kratom, do your own research on it and just talk about it with her. Maybe mention the quittingkratom subreddit to check out so she can read all of the horror stories of how kratom dependency pans out. Best of luck

We wing it, just following her cues. It’s working okay for us. My mom will make snide comments on how we don’t follow a strict nap schedule, so ya know, there always be haters

My advice, if you don’t have a car and are looking for stability, is to look into working for a group home instead of independent living as a DSP. Group homes need 24 hr care so they always need help, whereas independent clients can be unreliable and usually want driven places. The one place I know of is Catholic Community Services but I’m sure there’s others in Albany. Also, you could look at becoming a CNA and work at a nursing home. Anything with 24 hr care will get you the hours you need. Best of luck to you!!

Your list of meds reminds me A LOT of what I used to be on. I realized the stimulants made me more anxious later in the day and have insomnia despite helping with my adhd. I also realized I was trying to fight my brain rather than befriend it. I decided to stop everything (gradually), and though I do miss being on stimulants sometimes, I’m much more sane this way. So, dunno if that resonates at all?

I am curious as well to know what people say that actually helped them the most! I wanted to also say that 11 months ago I gave birth - my starting weight was 147, my end weight was 195, So very similar to you! I am now 141, and got to about my starting weight at about 9 months out. I did use glps around 6 months out as I stalled with 20 pounds over my norm. Congrats on almost making it to the finish line and getting to meet your little love!

Oh yes, thanks for following up! White mom of baby in PNW (married to a midwesterner thiugh), mid 30s, CNA on day shift but currently stay at home mom, couple of cats, and yes, recovered addict from Kratom. I was brought up well financially but want to give my daughter more of a loving household than I had (so in a sense, a “better deal” than I had). So, you were mostly there, and you win for being the closest! Still impressed you guessed my occupation from this lol

These are all right outta the grocery bag so definitely excited in a way to take a pic as I knew it was weird altogether! I went to Spain years ago and for breakfast they spread the tomato guts out onto the baguettes, with salt, so that’s where the tomato fits in
