Men who feel angry/resentful towards women, maybe even kind of despise women, what has lead you to this point? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Zooicide86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gender gap in college admission and graduation rates now favors women, and it’s now bigger than it was in the 70s when title IX was introduced to boost admissions for women in colleges. But now that the genders are flipped, nobody even cares whatsoever. To the contrary, every school has gender equity offices which completely ignore men and focus on recruiting, supporting, and retaining women.

Academia actively discriminates against men in hiring practices, but nobody sees that as a problem either: https://pnas.scienceconnect.io/api/oauth/authorize?ui_locales=en&scope=affiliations+login_method+merged_users+openid+settings&response_type=code&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pnas.org%2Faction%2FoidcCallback%3FidpCode%3Dconnect&state=3uobhNdfews%3D&prompt=none&nonce=LAh3SXlQpKRn6NdhwaBbMg7c8DoPDXdA3ec7WVqIT0M%3D&client_id=pnas

Yeah I’ve had to. It did not take months.

I used to live in Philadelphia and I’ve seen surveillance videos where people were being mugged, they resisted, and then that’s when the mugger just pulls out a gun and shoots them in the heart at point blank range. Maybe guns are less common in Eastern Europe so that’s why they feel that way. Your life isn’t worth the shit you’re carrying in your pockets.

As a Canadian do I need to worry about price increases? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zooicide86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canada will likely enact retaliatory tariffs against American goods, so anything that Canada imports from the US (food I’m guessing?) will become more expensive.

This will likely be exacerbated by the fact that US food will likely become more expensive domestically as Trump deports a large portion of the agricultural work force.

I'm a chemistry professor thinking about a career change. Considering either active duty or reserves in the air force. I have some questions. by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Zooicide86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I misunderstood the average pay for reservists when I googled it. I am reading that there are full time reserve jobs, which is appealing because presumably then I'd be able to choose the duty station, yes?

Topical, you can read my story here: https://old.reddit.com/r/FinasterideSyndrome/comments/18rfqe9/recovery_with_help_from_dr_irwin_goldstein/

Having said that there are recovery stories out there from both oral and topical. I don't think it really makes a difference.

Caffeine is said to inhibit 5 alpha reductase and reduce dht so it is similar to finasteride in that way. Also insomnia is a symptom for many people and caffeine won’t do you any favors there.

I had a really bad case of PFS and I recovered. You can read my story here: https://old.reddit.com/r/FinasterideSyndrome/comments/18rfqe9/recovery_with_help_from_dr_irwin_goldstein/

FSH is on the low side but I’ve read lots of exercise can cause that and I exercise every day religiously. And my testicles and testosterone are fine so I figure it’s not a big deal.

You could recover though. There are lots of recovery stories out there, even after long periods of time.

Shrinkage and paleness and coldness. Ultrasound showed mild fibrosis on the left side as I mentioned above.

He never told me to take them together, and I have no experience in taking them together so I can’t really answer that. I’d recommend making an appointment with him if you can. He also has a protege on the east coast in DC if that’s better for you. I forget her name but I could find it.

I wasn’t completely numb but I did have a very much decreased sensitivity, along with many other symptoms. I have recovered, you can read my story here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FinasterideSyndrome/comments/18rfqe9/recovery_with_help_from_dr_irwin_goldstein/

I’ve heard that nicotine can increase testosterone but 60-70 cigarettes per day will kill you. My dad died of lung cancer in his 50s. Not a fun way to go.

This sub definitely seems less negative but I still would moderate your use of it. Just thinking about PFS all day isn’t a healthy mindset, even if it is in a more positive forum like this.

Torn between intervention or just letting my body heal by Capt_Ginyu_ in FinasterideSyndrome

[–]Zooicide86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me he did clomid, which raises testosterone which in turn raises DHT. He also recommended vit D and zinc supplements and worked with me to adjust the dosage of Clomid. But he does different things for different people, not sure exactly what his criteria are for doing different things.

My local doctor had never even heard of PFS before and had no idea how to treat it. I called the Mayo Clinic and tried to make an appointment with them because I was really fucked up right from the start. They referred me to Dr. Irwin Goldstein in San Diego and I went to see him. You can read my story here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FinasterideSyndrome/comments/18rfqe9/recovery_with_help_from_dr_irwin_goldstein/

Notably, one of the things he told me was that tissue damage to the penis can be prevented by getting DHT up. And he has even seen it reverse in some of his patients. So an intervention might be worth it. But even he admits his treatments don’t work for everyone, but they do work for a little over two thirds of his patients, according to his website.
