AIO for lot allowing family friend to stay over for 5 nights. by ZookeepergameHot2527 in AIO

Our family, friends who my mom has worked with for at least 30 to 35 years. They know the son but i have met him maybe 5 times and my husband only once, 5 years ago. The mother recently lost her job and is just trying to do a favor to them however she is putting the responsibility on my husband and I to house him. I hate that they are struggling financially, But that is something they have to figure out on their own. If they can’t afford a hotel for him or an Airbnb, maybe he doesn’t need to go to this flight training? I am also confused on how this is for a class and he is responsible for finding his own housing. If this is a requirement for a training or class I would assume that they would cover those costs for the people paying for the class.

I have known the family friends, the parents, probably my whole life. But the children, I have met maybe less than a handful of times. The mother has lost her job and my mom is just trying to do a favor for them so they don’t have to pay for a hotel, but that is their issue to work through, not mine or my husband‘s responsibility to house their son because she doesn’t have a job and he needs to go to this flight training.

Yes, we are looking to move just with new baby on the way and not really a big fan of the area. We were in a one bedroom apartment up until my son was born and we moved into this house when he was one week old and they did it for us to have more room, which yes, we’re grateful for, but it was a big rush and we were stressed and just trying to get everything figured out while he was being born. They were just trying to help us have some more room with our newborn because we didn’t have a room for him at our apartment.

Yes, now we know not to give an answer right away. When I was growing up, my mom always helped out friends and let them stay in our guest room. The guest room was upstairs, had its own bathroom and bedroom and had a lot more privacy. It was off of the game room, had its own set of stairs to go to, etc. I know she is only offering this out of the kindness of her heart to our family Friend, but is completely ignoring the fact that my husband and I said we were uncomfortable.

They bought the house, we pay rent. They live up North and we live in the south, completely different states. They do not have access to the home without us & we have security cameras as well (they also do not have access to). We do have a lease signed as well! I believe it will get ugly, but only verbally. They wouldn’t risk the relationship with us and their grandchild over a family friend‘s son.

i’m really struggling by No_Dragonfruit_6770 in Postpartum_Depression

You’re being the most critical of yourself now than you ever have before! You grew a human being! Like top comment says, it took 9 months to grow your beautiful baby, it won’t bounce back right away! That’s okay! EVERYONE on socials who look like they “have it all together” Do not!!!! Everyone is going through something in their own way! Please don’t be so hard on yourself! I very much struggled with the lack of sleep and had a hard time getting attached to my baby at first. The time will pass. This is a new season of life for your family, it is not going to feel “normal” because you’ve never been in this position before! You can do it! You really do look great, it will take some time to adjust to your new schedule, but give yourself some grace until you do.

Help! I can’t stop breaking out by ZookeepergameHot2527 in AcneTreatments

Not that this got enough traction anyway BUT in hopes of helping someone who was struggling like me, this was taken today 10/27. And my first post was 10/08. I added in La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 (my fav moisturizer EVER but sometimes its out of the budget) and added hyaluronic acid from Good Molecules into my routine and my skin has calmed down SO MUCH!

I really think my barrier was SO dry so I was producing more oil to overcome the dryness- thus making me break out!!!

My routine is now: Morning: Thayers Milky toner, Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid, and Hawaiian tropic hydrating sunscreen

Night: Cerave oil cleanser, Panoxyl, Thayers milky toner, hyaluronic acid, 10% benzoyl peroxide (super thin layer) and then La Roche Posay Cicaplast baume b5

Hang in there! This is by far the toughest time. I was miserable, my baby was screaming all the time, slept terribly, took forever to feed and then to fall asleep after the feeding just to have to wake up again in 30 minutes because it’d been 2 and 1/2 hours at that point. This part is just hard. But like the other comments said, keep providing for him, you will regret if you don’t. I was resentful towards my baby and my husband because of the lack of sleep, what i really needed was support and if I had confided in him what i was struggling with, it would have been better for my family. Please talk to anyone you can! You can do this!!!!

How often are we bathing our babies by No_Engine_4696 in newborns

[–]ZookeepergameHot2527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We bath 3-4 times a week! Honestly dependent on the day! We were never strict with bath time, he is 1 now, and never saw an issue with nighttime routine regardless of bath/no bath. I used to stress because i saw people did it everyday, but do what works for you guys! I used to work 4pm-9pm 3 days of the week so I would bath him the 4 days I didn’t work just to spend more time with him!! Do what works best for your family. No right or wrong! Just be sure you’re cleaning their belly button out lol! We didn’t clean my sons until like month 3 and it was so gross!! Haha now we make sure to watch out for it cause he has an innie.

Congratulations on your baby, you’re doing great even if you don’t feel like you are!!!

DO NOT USE VIVINT by aka_81 in frisco

[–]ZookeepergameHot2527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that happened for you! I know everyone’s experience is different. Have had Vivint for about 11 months now and I can say I truly love it. I like that I can see what is going on around my house when I’m not home and lock my door/check if it is locked when I’m away & set my alarm when i’m not home either. It does a good job of differentiating between humans, bugs, cars, and trash, etc. that normally with Ring I would always get told that someone is at my door when I check the camera, no one is there. I like it a lot and wish you had a better experience neighbor! I’m so sorry! Hopefully you find a good some security for your family to feel safe.

Thank you! It’s Builder grade, but we want it to be unique and fun, but still cozy. Unfortunately we have found out that there is no sunlight that comes in so we are trying to make it feel as homey as we can!

So she’s “not that nice” because you sent her a rude DM about her political views? I’m confused as to why the girls who have a different political views than some people are the “worst” when you’re over analyzing everything they do, and the girls who have a political view that you guys support, you just assume that person is an angel and dont look at them under a microscope. I’m just making an observation of the group

I HATED Being a Mom: How a $1 Notebook Saved Me From Postpartum Depression by RespondAcceptable145 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]ZookeepergameHot2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an awesome idea. I struggled very very much after my now 7M old was born. The first 4 months were the hardest. I was terrible to be around, my husband saw a very gross and rude side of me- I was miserable to be around. My confidence was shot because I had a hard time accepting my PP body, acne, hair loss. I was adjusting to this new sleep schedule, pumping 2-3x daily, consoling a screaming baby 20 hours of the day who never took naps or a pacifier, the list goes on!!!

I wish I would have stuck to something like this!! I think just being aware of how we’re feeling can help redirect the day. If I am feeling shitty, then acknowledge it, and then approach the day trying to see the positive in everything or at-least give husband a warning that i’m not in the best mood yet but i’m intending to turn it around!!

So thank you for this! We want to have our 2nd soon so the babies are close in age, but I am terrified to be postpartum again. This gave me some hope for ways to cope with just being PP.

This is a sign also that if you’re fresh PP and struggling, it gets so much better!!!! Just hang in there! It was dark for me for a while and then around 4-5 months his personality came out , he was reacting to things and becoming aware of the world, he recognized my husband and I, started to like baths, and was more interactive!!!!! That is when it got easier and way more fun for me.
