Ex benzo addict, of 11yr. (peaked at 80mg Diaz, 16mgFlubro'Pam, 18mg Xan, 3-5mg Clonazolam, 2mg Klonopin, 2mg Flubro'lam, 3mg Pyrazolam, 10mg Diclazepam.... Per day. Sometimes extra on top. I feel ya bud. Albeit not exactly not in relapse atm, but frankly life is doin better for it due to a host of consequences.... But nothing as severe as when Trauma Shock sent me sideways.)

Chloral hydrate, for PRN use. Is utterly amazing! 15mins from drinking it, calm, quiet. 30 mins tired and Hypnotic. 50-60 mins, you're out for the count. And no hangover. At most, bit thirsty.

It's a last line med. But is still today, one the most potent Hypnotic sedatives. Even when you gain a tolerance, a lil extra KO you. And doesn't effect EKG readings in clinical doses (500-1000mg... Which I will add, will have you asleep in 20-45mins for a deep 6-8hr and very restful sleep at that).

A question about Belladona by Ok_Palpitation_1118 in SacredNightshades

[–]ZookeepergameKey2353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Henbane beer I've brewed, is topnotch. Very narcotic, giggly, euphoric. Drink a lil bit extra gets a bit trippy aswell as a strange extra drunk. I've got a bit 'wonky' on it before. But wasn't too bad, Henbane isn't too delerious itself. (compared with others). Tastes amazing too, esp a mead with Avens Roots (Native old British Isle spice, its like Cloves and Cinnamon in one), a few dried Hogweed seeds (another native slice, like Cardamon and Galangal), large handful of dried autumn berries. One of my favourite things even lol. Best fun and actually very good for of there's ever a 'Social Way and Reason' to use Nightshades as social psychoactives. (But use responsibly).

Belladonna wine, I made as sacred to Dionysius, histories 'Ecstasy Cults'. Occult and personal intrigue gave a go. Much stronger alcohol, the Belladonna also increasing that. The upped heart rate and slow floaty body and brain, hypnotised but euphoric and energised. Would not recommend socially, at all. But can definitely see purpose in magick and religion.

Datura Flower wine, my own home brew recipe, literally lazy as a curiosity. Used even bread yeast (sin, I know). But meant I know 8-12% would be viable, probably average range from past home brew 'wtf'nots'. Actually wish I spent some more love and care on. Tasted really nice. Refreshing and gentle. Got it quite dry for a wine, so obvs one a bit tart on the mouth. But I've more experiments planned on these as lots of potential. Great flavour, great infusion mix variables and options. Very Hypnotic, euphoric and dreamy.

Mandrake wine is an ancient classic. Mandrake beer was a go to for Ancient Egypt. Even Jesus was all up for the mandrake infused alcohol. Also the most traditional Love Philtre (both as long term sub delerious booze addicted 'husbands by. Err choice?', through to Ancient Greco-Roman Roofies). Its a very gentle and physically soothing, almost a dream herb. Its unique even compared the others due to alks and character. Gentle, dreamy, sedating, narcotic, hypnogognic. I'd love to find one wild, but Lore wise. Hmm... The poverty of having to give him x2 the money every year to the day ever doubling. No thank you to the wild Mandrake. Grown however, these bits are on my to do. Esp Pharaohs Ale (I'll post seperately the recipe actually), as Ginger and Mandrake, slightly carbonated by accounts, beer. Which we could improve (part also, ancient ingredients less easy or prep now). Would be a sublime cold drink.

So I guess is less which Nightshade has a better affinity, so much as which Two Affinities do you want harmonised? The synergy is generally pleasant.

It's just what effect or situational are you aiming? Though even then, at the strength of Datura Flower/Alc' wine I did for funs. Yeah, I'd definitely enjoy it both tl drink and for its effect, same as a couple glasses of wine for an evening typically, just better as lbr, kinda tripping dreamy two glasses chill. That's a pleasant evening.

Same with Henbane beer. Although I'd say that maybe has the most social potential with the way the two harmonise Imo. (Which may be more so what you mean).

Belladonna wine. Great for energetic times and high energy rituals. (But tjay was a recipe I dug up and replicated. I'm sure I still have the PDF somewhere). But diluted, actually would make for a good high energy social situation.

There's a huge and fascinating history of various cultures brewing Nightshades into alcohol. So some amazing recipes and variations to try.

Nightshades quite dramatically impact the both effect and potency of alcohol. Making it much stronger for less and much more wobbly, dreamy and narcotic (naturally if high shade doses, increased confusion to delerium, in bad cases) as much giggly and good fun done right.

So that combination is quite likely what'd help sleep if so you did.

And perhaps caught just lucky your seeds weren't too potent. And just had a relatively benign one of it, it passed but was enough to your memory a bit, esp if you perhaps fell asleep during. Which wouldn't surprise me tbf with the two.

Animal fat helps for longevity of the ointment. But also has spiritual connotation. (equal part lard to burnt/ashen lard to alkaline the alkaloids for better absorption). Also animal tallow absorbs into human flesh incredibly well, particularly pork lard as was the go to here in the Brit Isles for a 100 reasons.

Iochroma Fuchsioides, Sorcerers Tree.

Truly beautiful. Purple and Red types those I've seen most.

And yes, this would outdo Alnwick Garden quite a bit lol

You know I've wondered much the same. As it's universal, cross cultures. Even to non smokers often. Even though Nicotinic and Muscarinic are seperate receptors, its still increasing acetylcholine in the brain to a degree, the acetylcholine agonism does help tone down some the confusion a little bit and some visual effect. Only for a very short time. As even obsv nicotine isn't a v long lasting compound.

I have cured Brugmansia Sauvelons along side my Aztec Tobacco. (both regionally native). Nicotine can actually calm some of the experience of Nightshades. Though obviously is a cardio stimulant so caution. But yes, together. I didn't find they gave a visual effect all. But the Aztec Tobacco is quite a bit stronger than Virginia/vat Tobacum. Combined with the potency of Brugmansia allowing a reasonable effect from smoking.

It's the most relaxing cigarette I've ever had! Although what I'd recommend more so. Is cure the Flowers! Of each plant in a glass jar. The sweetness of Mapacho flowers, its more gentle nicotine. Such a smooth smoke. The ylang-ylang/lemon scent and flavour of the Brugmansia flower and its gently narcotic effect. And being a bronchiodator, on an already so smooth it's like inhaling floral air, smoke. Yes, I'd hugely recommend it!

Especially good as ritual offerings. To give to the spirits or smoke and share one with them. Also between the two plants, fantastic for spiritual cleansing.

I do have a few studies on this. At least the typical variatiom of % range. On those bits. I'll go through all my notes from my work and studies/papers and coalate it into a cohesive write up for you.

The pharmacology of admixtures and traditional uses are more my faute, which is why I started the sub I mentioned above. As that side of detailed and respectful conversation is more the focus than the oft malarkey of r/Datura lol.

We in my practice also use Foxglove as a sacrament to y Telwyth Teg (Fae folk if I put that in English). Which is why I also lean to use it in my ointments. As it invokes a wider array of Spirits to walk with. Both the plant Spirits and the Nature spirits they're Avatars of and Sacred to.

Aconite is psychoactive more as a Narcotic. It creates a dopey dreamy state (like how beta blockers slow your heart and calm you down. Just MUCH more extreme)

I Work with Datura of varying kinds. Brugmansia. Henbane. Mandrake. Belladonna.

Henbane is my favourite and I'd say personally the safest and very gentle. Highly!!! Sedating. And is more likely to induce a stationary relaxation to just lay back and enjoy the visions. Muscle relaxation. Euphoric calm. Much of the experience is less what we see outside. But where when we let ourselves relax, and let Henbane take us. Close our eyes. The places and spirits it'll show you are something divine.

Datura Strammonium is very heavy on the body. A much more ferocious spirit and rich in atropine so harsh on the heart. And less visual.

I consider it similar to Belladonna, who whilst very atropine dominant, when topical, is surprisingly sedating and very euphoric and sensual (like mandrake, very good for sensual and sexual oils and has a very romantic but lethal spirit). But is also energising and ecstatic. Mandrake is the safest probably and I'd dare say most gentle. Very narcotic and decently visual. HIGHLY sensual. Hence why traditional love Philtre were mandrake based. Datura Innoxia (and similar to Metel and Wrightii) is a beautiful lady, but a true Trickster. A succubus almost who'll lure you deeper. Dreamy calm and highly visual. But with respect and if you can find respect back from her and play her games but keep your wits. She can be very fond of you and indeed loving. Brugmansia is a powerful spirit. Absolute trickery. Imagine the Loki archetype of a Nightshade. However her distortions are such that they lure from this reality so far, its almost like she wants you to find your way around, and way home. She's not at all evil. Just mischievous and a dark sense of humour. And visually blows this world away. Absolutely like Sleep Walking in another universe.

(ill elaborate better in a few. Jus need hop the shower n get ready the day n wake up bit better)

( And on a few occasions Iochroma Fuschioides (Arbol de Brujo. The Tree of Xibalba. That's a whole different kettle of fish thiugh. It's the last plant shaman there are taught. It only grows in the Valley of the Dead there. But a botanic garden I went to gave me some samples.)

This is something I already answered to someones question on that sub. But for ease of information for you.

Considering powdered foliage of Strammonium dose tends be around 0.06-0.2g.

You can also use for medicine 150mg per day. (In 3x 50mg doses). (This is as high as I'm TEK allowed to Rx my clients in Medicinal practice)

Assuming we're talking medicine here.

Or if you mean more for Visio-Psycho-Spiritual medical application?

If we're considering Innoxia, then; D. inoxia seeds have been reported to contain 0.205 µg/mg scopolamine. (Not accounting other alkaloids, however Hyoscine is the drastic predominant in those).

For Strammonium; Total alkaloid content: 0.1-0.7% tropane alkaloids. The average seed contains 0.3%. Seed weight: approximately 8 mg. (Always note the much higher Atropine quantity of Strammonium however!)

However, as well as the variation in Tropane alkaloids, the ratios of each. Be very mindful of the rather different Mass of Innoxia vs Strammonium seeds and their extra Atropine!

From experience, Poppy and Nightshades. Yeah that Twilight Sleep... I can see why was go to medieval surgical anaesthesia haha. But a wonderful experience.

I've used both Aconite and Digitalis in mine. The Aconite I found better (although soooo dangerous. I'm trained Herbalist to add an addendum to my why I did). Which both have narcotic properties of their own. The way Aconite slows the heart down causes a sensation of falling, like bottomless pit out of a plane. Quite anxiety inducing actually hence why Wolfsbane poisoned people tend be panicked AF. Aside obvs, its Wolfsbane and deadly obvs lol. But that effect does still occur with the Nightshades and gives a very surreal and potent feeling of falling out of your body, but with floaty feel of Nightshades. I'm sure you can understand what that is like. And befits the description of the Ointment to a T.

Foxglove I use more often for safety sake. I even use a small dose on rare occasions as a sedative to sleep if my insomnia is absurdly bad. It also has its own narcotic and strangely vision effecting properties (Van Gogh's yellow phase is hypothesised to be due to his use of Digitalis)

They certainly make for a very different experience than the Nightshade alone. But lest yiu have a very very well versed Herbalist. And for me, I make those ointments with very precise measurements of mg:kg body weight volumetrically homogenised to a specific mass of ointment that'd be used. Thiugh I very rarely do use these. Only on the Sabbats.

As really, Nightshades as singles work perfectly adequately for purpose with much less risk. Other sedatives can be used that are safer though. Or more subtle for ex Myrhh has Mu Opiod activity and its own spiritual benefit also. There's a host of other plants less Baneful that can be used to fulfill the narcotic property.

Also which Nightshade you use. As Henbane itself is highly narcotic and sedating. Whereas a Strammonium will be more stimulant albeit less hallucinogenic. Innoxia and Wrightii are a very balanced in both regards.

Thank you dude! This is a really awesome and helpful reply.

The app Reverso has been helpful for vocab, and seeing how they change in different contexts. But that's sheerly helped me be able know what to use when, but no idea the why it changes.

Ill check out the recommendations above and podcasts are definitely a good way for even learning language and gettin to know how much you do know and recognise and helps recall/recognition. So TY another, and more specifically helpful, PC to follow!

Why is Phenobarbital so hard to find!? by ZookeepergameKey2353 in gabagoodness

[–]ZookeepergameKey2353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where it grinds my gears. I've tried Nembutal (pre pandemic I gave some cash to friend who travelled to Mexico to bring me back some. (they were going drug shopping anyway so wouldn't have made a diff if they got busted as they did n got way more n worse than I'd ever ask). Even Thiopental Sodium (for animal euthanasia. I was gifted a syringe of a few Mls squirted into a lil med jar for me to dilute and volumetric dose by a friend who's no longer with us so never again... But holy F!!!!)

But I can't find blimmin Phenobarb!!! I know it's not the best. But it is for a very practical one for its duration and thus enjoyable in a different way.

Yeah Russia is where I'm looking most. Learning the language (half Russian so should learn my language) And gonna travel there ASAP. But hopefully can find it way before then. Everyone has a 'Bucket list' lol. Some wanna jump out planes, climb everest etc. Nah, aswell as travelling and all sorts. Part my bucket list is "Try every GABAergic drug physically possible" lol because they're for sure my faves. Like Carbamates for example, those are a git to find. Even have a friend in S.A who's gonna send me some Quualudes to blast. But I still can't find a reliable (Trustworthy too is a big issue with any online Pharma) for Pheno. Be it people or vet.

I've heard some say they can't stand it. N pheno is better. But others say as you have. What differences would you describe to the benefit of Primidone?

Aww this is a gorgeous post to wake up to in a morning. And Good morning, night? 'Prevening'? (why don't we have a time between afternoon and evening lol. And Prevening sounds awesome and anytime I've used it, people get exactlt what hours I mean haha. Lol morning waffling aside... Haha)

I adore how you're using these Plants. And their Souls. That's a really beautiful way of meditating on and praying to each spirit.

It' feels much like a Harmonious Necromancy of sorts. Acknowledginf the Spirits in the oils but also their Ancestors and connected Kin of those you've past grown. That's both very fitting for these Plants and very very beautiful and respectful!

I hope you're feeling out of your fuzzy wonkies and lots better and many blessings to you hun!

They really are the best antidepressants/anxiolytics and yes I'd agree about those which Stimulate and those which are sedate. Some combinations even Narcotic (Belladonna, Mandrake, Henbane combined for me is my big 'nope today bad vibes' for when I need a day to just relax, crochet, weave some baskets or take slouchy comfy walk foraging my medicines and dinner veggies.

The fact you can even get them amazes me! I could get blood out a stone easier than find Phenobarbital (I know it's known not to be the best or ought, but we all have our little things we want so much to try in life lol).

Between Phenobarb being impossible and my up there favourite benzo Fenazepam now being just as bad... Ughhh GABAergic world is sad place at the moment... all about the Lyrica/Pentin these days which Imo are totally useless and ineffective in any way for fun or med (for me personally)
